I'm surprised with the lack of a Bruce Arians thread this morning...I'm guessing all the Tomlin haters went quiet.

Perfect example of what his offense is good at...racking up yardage while not scoring many points. It was a flashback to how the Steelers played 5-6 years ago and remembering how frustrating that used to be to dominate the game and not come away with a win.

I know the refs had some questionable calls but Bruce also seemed very ornery on the sidelines yesterday. Every time the camera panned to him he was throwing a Harbaugh-esque tantrum.

Was thinking the same thing about how when Arians was running the Steeler show, the offense would dominate on the stat line but seem to end up flat on the score sheet.
There is still a little of that with Haley too but for some reason I get the impression that Roethlisberger tends to audible out of some of those Haley calls.

The Cards were leading the league in average points per game with 38, that's more than the Pats****, but you could argue that was inflated by playing weak teams since the two times they played against a good defense (us and the Colts) they lost.

The Bruce is not the offensive coordinator so we can assume that he doesn't do much of the Cards playcalling. Which is the part of the game that he sucked at.

I saw late in the 4th quarter he was still running around with his big chart in his hands....I don't think that I would say that he isn't calling any of the plays.

Some of that is playing crappy teams and also their defense has 3 TDs and 1 kickoff return TD so not all of their scoring can be attributable to their offense.

He reminded me of Mike Holgrem in Super Bowl XL........Instead of being a calm steely sturdy example of how to act in the face of perceived adversity, he threw a hissy fit like a little ***** and his team adopted his persona.

Thanks FG genius....we never would have expected that.

Oh I know, I'm just saying it's not his main job since he has a whole team to run now in all three phases of the game, if you will, obviously.

unless something changed yesterday, we've scored on 100% of our red zone attempts this season.

I believe that's true but too many times they come away with 3.

32 Seattle 28.57% 16.67% 33.33% 16.67% 37.50% 52.11%

Look who is last. Wow.

i remember the skirts here fawning over how Seattle was who we should emulate.

The thing I noticed was that he seemed awfully amped up during the game.

Almost every time the camera showed him, he was melting down over a Hochuli call.

Its amazing how things can change from one season to the next (Seahawks).....back to back SB participants to being at risk of missing the playoffs altogether, while still maintaining the nucleus of their offense and defense. I think the biggest loss was losing their DC

The Bruce has demonstrtaed that he is a very good head coach in the NFL. Two time Coach of the year and has done a phenominal job in Arizona with an over the hill QB in Carson Palmer. Three turnovers ain't going to get you a win in most cases and also to the STeelers credit, they shut down the Card's running game. That was huge.

Lets see who Tomlin starts against KC if Ben can't go and if Vick is declared fit to play. Don't be surprised if he goes with his boy Vick if he can play.

I doubt Vick ever takes another snap in this league. I don't see how you go back to him even if he is healthy.

Cards other loss was to the Rams. They don't play the Colts.

He certainly shouldn't take another snap in the NFL. Jones played well enough and the offense clicked with him in there so to go back to Vick would clearly be a stupid Tomlin decision.

My mistake, I meant the Rams. They have a good defense, as we saw.

No chance. I also think Tomlin is smart for hedging his bets. He knows Jones will start, but keeps telling the media, "If Vick is healthy, he could be the QB." Chefs have to spend at least some time scheming for Vick by ... well, by abandoning the middle of the field on pass defense, I guess. Meanwhile, Jones is taking 1st team reps all week and ready to go.

Tomlin announces game time, "Michael's hamstring is just not quite ready to go." Win-freaking-win.

Why? He is that bad they will not have game plan for him. Vick has shown he can not hit or find an open WR.

well, yeah, but see, Vick's already told the media he's "at least a week from being able to play" per the ticker on ESPN when I was at the gym.
