The "Ben has a cellphone" thread

I was just going to post about this. I guess he'll be suspended for 4 games.

Noticed it at the time. Hopefully will just be a fine.

Tom Brady destroys Ben Roethlisberger's Cell Phone. "Rule Yourself"

NFL Sees Nothing!

Troy was fined for using a phone on the sideline at one point too. Is that article trying to claim we cheated like the Patriots?

Steelers: Roethlisberger wasn’t using a phone on the sideline

In the post-#DeflateGate NFL, Patriots fans are looking for any and all evidence of other teams breaking the rules. On Thursday night, they thought they’d found some.

The CBS broadcast of the Ravens-Steelers game showed quarterback Ben Roethlisberger using what some thought was a smart phone. According to the Steelers, it wasn’t.

Team spokesman Burt Lauten tells PFT that Roehtlisberger was consulting his black, plastic wristband that contains the play calls for the game. Roethlisberger kept the wristband in his sweatshirt, removing the device throughout the game to examine it.

The explanation meshes with the images from the game. Besides, with the use of cellphones prohibited on NFL sidelines during games (even if they’re being used solely to block people on Twitter), common sense suggests that no one would be using one so blatantly and obviously during a game.

If any team understands this, it’s the Steelers. Four years ago, former Pittsburgh safety Troy Polamalu was fined $10,000 for using a cell phone during a game. The fine was overturned on appeal, based on the explanation that Polamalu (who had left the game in question with concussion-like symptoms) was simply calling his wife to tell her that he was fine.

Based on recent events maybe Ben didn't think the cell phone rule applied anymore.

I saw him through my binoculars and thought he had a phone, but it was hard to tell. I was a bit surprised because of the rules and would think the Steelers wouldn't be that dumb.

those silly pat fans

SMH

To me he looked like he had a phone, because of the way he pocketed it immediately and looked around like he was guilty of something.

NFL and Steelers already doing the "nothing to see here" dance

It was his wristband with the plays on it. Dead thread and **** anything that comes out of those Mass-******** media, state, or even region.

I will trade a three game suspension for Ben, who is injured anyhow, for Brady serving his four gamer....

Sure looked like a phone.. Thought you could see the volume or power button, but don't really care either way.

Could be... it does look like the plastic armband thing he has though. I don't care cause either its a fine for a guy who isn't playing or if they get stupid its a suspension for a guy who wont be playing during that time anyhow

I don't care to an extent as long as Ben is well aware of the rules next time. With the Patsy debacle, the last thing the Steelers need is to be investigated and accused of cheating as well

it could be a mini ipad ..

What patsie debacle???? The FlUCKers got caught cheating, then of all things, the headsets !!!!!!! ONLY the STEELERS ones. These mass-holes fans of theirs are totally in denial. Their francjise is a shambles of cheaters and pricks. Money can buy a lot of things, but, integrity isn't one of them.

Salute the nation
