The Arrow Is Pointing Up For Mason Rudolph

Sure in a vacuum just pure numbers don't tell you much

But this is a comparison, not just pure stats. Whether it's practice or games or whatever setting we're talking about, that kind of improvement period over period is still promising. Especially when it's a rookie and this is all we have to go by at this point

Colbert is very conservative with praise toward young players by his nature. He says son Rudolph is ahead of schedule. I would not dismiss the camp stats either. There seems to be some separation between Landry Jones, a veteran back up, who we can win game with if needed and Rudolph, who hasn't even played in his first preseason game yet in the last five practices.

If this trend continues during the pre-season, it points to Rudolph who's just scratching the surface of being a professional quarterback on track to pass Landry Jones on the depth chart.

If you want to pick at Ben, he's not always a drop back and throw type of rhythmic passer ( Like Brady or Brees ) , moreover, he has freak ability and often waits for his players to break open after their initial route, sometimes not pulling the trigger on a designed play when he should, with it working out anyway.

I think Rudolph is more likely to drop back and hit his man where the play is designed, so in that sense, he can be more receiver and OL friendly.
