Shocked that there is absolutely no news on this yet. And from what I've heard so are most of the local sports writers as well. Talk about an uncomfortable silence.....

Is this some obtuse comment regarding Troy, or possibly some other player of Pacific Islander decent? So far I have to concur with the negative comments listed above. I would suggest in the future if you have a point attempt to make in some manner that does not require the rest of us to be privy to what ever is going through your head.

Ok, how bout I put it so everyone with a double digit IQ can understand. Troy big problem, Steelers not deal with big problem even though they should have, voices coming from magic speaking box agree that it odd not to hear mouth noises coming from Steelers explaining why nothing done yet. Wondered if anyone heard anything. Forgot to use small, monosyllabic words for some of you.

Oh, and I'd rather be a ******** rather than a troll who takes the time between masturbation sessions in his grandma's basement to repeatedly post on a topic he finds so stupid. Now go cash your welfare check and blow it on lottery tickets and Playgirl mags.

how bout they have really until June 1 to decide what to do with Troy...maybe he decides to retire ..maybe he decides to take a pay cut ...maybe the Steelers cut him..but its going to be a post June 1st cut if its a cut maybe the will cut him before and maybe not ..but no matter it will go as a post June 1st cut so we get more cap relief ..

Seems like there really is no purpose to cutting him right now unless they have someone ready to sign a contract and need the cap space for that. Even then, as you say, it will be designated a June 1st cut.

This should end well.

They can cut him now and designate him a post June 1 cut.

I heard this also, but from the reaction of all the local media guys "in the know" they seem pretty shocked that nothing has been decided yet. Can't remember which host was talking about it on the local sports radio, but he was stumbling over his words because he was so shocked that there has been no word yet on one of the most impactful things happening to the organization this offseason. Especially since it hampers our efforts getting into the FA market.

Does it really hamper the FO's ability to get into the free agent market? I mean, at whose level of comfort? See your level of comfort may not be the same as theirs and therefore whether Troy retires today, tomorrow or is cut w/without a June 1st designation may have little to do with what they are willing to spend on free agents. Not saying you are right or wrong, just that unless you're in the office with these guys evaluating talent and value, you can't know what they want to do. Also, if they do cut Troy with a June 1st designation, you can bet that a good portion of that money is earmarked for the rookie class and the rest is probably for signings throughout preseason and the regular season. They have to keep some $$$ in reserve for those things. jmho

Front office is in no hurry to have an answer and it appears that they are respecting Troy's ability to take his time and make the best decision for his family. Read it today.

Personally, I wish we could trade him to maximize our cap relief.

Shocked that there is absolutely no news on this yet..

“The Steelers are giving Troy the space and time he needs to make a decision that is very respectful of his 12 years with the organization,” Marvin Demoff, Polamalu’s agent, said in an email to ESPN.com.

“At this time, we do not have an update on Troy Polamalu or his contract status,” Colbert said on Monday. “We will continue to communicate with Troy and his representatives regarding his future.”

Cutting him and designating him a June 1st cut doesn't do anything to help the Steelers UNTIL June 1st. The ability to designate a player a June 1st cut was meant to help players secure better deals by allowing them to be available in the first wave of FA signings.

If we don't get the money until June 1st, why not wait and see what Troy is going to do first? There's no rush at all.

Good thing I spelled it ethically or I'd be thinking you were talking to me..... I do have one concern, I thought all along, that this was YOUR grandma's basement. If it was mine, then she'd been joining us a long time ago!!!!

This should end well.

Well it's ended, unless two didgit juice boy wants me to quit supporting him with my welfare checks.
