"Amazing GM?" He's had his moments, but I'd save the "amazing" description for GMs like Bill Polian, who built three different Super Bowl teams (Buff., Car., Indy).

Colbert has been in charge of drafts that gave us such gems as Artie Burns, Bud Dupree, Jarvis Jones, Senquez Golson, Dri Archer, Mike Adams, Chris Rainey, Worilds, Evander Hood, Sweed, etc.

And his FA moves include such signings as Leonard Pope, Mike Mitchell, Ladarius Green, Bostic, Byron Leftwich, Burnett, Sean Mahan, Kent Graham, Brent Alexander, Jay Riemersma, etc.


I know everyone misses in drafts and FA, but Colbert gets way too much credit compared to the reality. I am a little sick of the smugness and arrogance. They have had plenty of garbage drafts to
go with some solid ones. They act like they are the "smartest guys in the room" when they haven't sniffed a Super Bowl in over a decade. If they were as smart as they pose, where are more recent
trips to the big show? (and that is WITH a franchise/hall of fame QB on the roster). Haven't really even come close to even appearing in a SB in over a decade.
 
Bill Polian drafted Jerry Hughes, Tony Ugoh, Ben Ijalana, Quinn Pitcock and Terrance Taylor. In 2004, they had 9 picks and managed to land just one player (Bob Sanders). In 2006, Polian selected Joseph Addai instead of Maurice Jones-Drew.

No need to pile on, since as you said there are swings and misses...POP

Hay there Bobby Boucher of Waterboy fame, you know you're going to take a beating, right?

Of course Kevin has missed on draft picks and F/A's but he's hit on a lot more than he's missed and help build teams that reached three super bowl in that nineteen year span that also saw other teams that had the best talent only to be squandered by an overrated, arrogant,stubborn ******* head coach.

Do you not think Bill Polian and the Hoodie have not had misses as well? Maybe you would rather be a fan of the Jets,Lions,Cards,etc that lose every damn year.

Exactly, I had already said that. But KC has never assembled the talent for 3 different SB teams like BP has. KC is always overrated; the media acts like he drafts better
than anyone else ever did in the history of all sports.

Straw man argument. Reaching 3 SBs is nice, reaching 9 and winning 6 is better.

Okay, when you make hyperbolic statements like this you have ZERO credibility. The Steelers last appearance in a Super Bowl was February, 2011 which is 8 years 3 months ago, NOT over a decade ago.

Joey Porter, Aaron Smith, Casey Hampton, Brett Keisel, Troy Polamalu, Ike Taylor, Ben Roethlisberger, Heath Miller, Lawrence Timmons, Maurkice Pouncey, Emmanuel Sanders, Antonio Clown, Cameron Heyward, Marcus Gilbert, David DeCastro, Le'Veon Bell, and Stephon Tuitt.

Same man that oversaw Free Agencies that gave us :
James Farrior, Ryan Clark, Jeff Hartings, and Kimo Von Oelhoffen.

You know what you'll find if you pull up the draft and FA history of EVERY GM?
Much of the same from both of our lists.......even your sacred Polian.

So between the Bills, Panthers, and Colts Polian oversaw 22 years of drafts, made a total of 4 SB appearances, and won 1 SB.
Colbert has overseen 20 years of drafts, made a total of 3 SB appearances, and won 2.
Me personally, I'd rather have the extra SB Win vs the extra SB appearance......in 2 less years.
But that's just me.

That and they appeared in the AFCCG just 2 or 3 years ago. I don't know what "close to appearing" means, though, and I am sure it will mean whatever makes this guy think he is right.

If the historical narrative is that Colbert is one of this generation's best GMs, and Tomlin never had a losing season and is record-wise one of the best HCs, then also stands to reason that somebody has underachieved with 3 playoff wins in 8 years.
