I've been wondering about why the team wasn't better prepared for having the correct shoes for that crappy field. It had rained all week in the Bay Area causing the field to be a soggy mess. Wouldn't the Steelers be aware of that and have the proper shoes available on the sideline before kickoff rather than be carrying a couple trunks of shoes after halftime. Are you kidding me!

Couple this and the accusations that Oakland has inferior x-ray equipment is ludicrous. I know the stadium is a dump but come on be serious.

Why didn’t Oakland have the field covered all week?

Cause they have long cleats for their kicker.

The X-ray equipment in Oakland. (Hope this isn't the Steelers medical staff.):

When my son played FB, I used to carry different cleats for him to use. Didn’t take but 5 min to change them during warm ups

We still should have beat that ****** team regardless of their cleats or their X-ray machine. They ****** up again by overlooking a team that should have been blown out by the 2nd quarter... Same old song and dance...

You sure it didn't take you until the last play of the game to figure it out? The steelers make it seem pretty complicated.

I don't know who messed up the "CLEAT" availability but I don know that Detail and structure come from the top, if the "TOP" isn't worried about it, why should you. It seems like there is NO ONE looking for an edge on or for this team. EVERY thing seems like a surprise or first time ever thing even though it's simple commen sense. Did anyone check the weather before leaving PITTSBURGH, So basic details that even my friends 8 years old would have thought of it. UN-Beleivable and there is no excuse available.

are you guys, who are complaining about the cleats, forgetting the 3 guys with huge wheel bags, rolling out the new cleats at the end of the first QTR?

Probably were their golf shoes and realized it once they got to the bench. ;)

Dumb *** Tomlin looked at the schedule and saw it was a Dec. 9 game and packed the teams winter stuff, explains why he didn't wear his shades in a day game in glaring California sun.

But of course.... The players only have just two hours on the field to warm up and test their footing to see if they have the right gear before the game. Wait....my bad, the players aren’t responsible.

Cope, I think it was at the end of the half but no matter, they should have decided what cleats to wear when warming up a couple hours prior to the game don't you think? Not come carting the cleats out at the end of first or 2nd quarter. But I think Tomlin blamed it on the obsolete x-ray equipment.
