Ben Roethlisberger seldom discusses his past off the field struggles that led to a four-game suspension during the 2010 season.

One of those rare occasions took place this past Friday at the Ignite Men's Impact Weekend event at Liberty University, where the Steelers' quarterback showed a very vulnerable side of himself as he opened up about his past.

Roethlisberger's road to redemption began when a song came on his car radio during that tumultuous time.

"I was driving down the road and a TobyMac song came on, 'Lose My Soul'," Roethlisberger said. "(The lyrics) fit my life very well. It says: 'What does it gain a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?' And that's what I was doing, I lost my soul. But I had the whole world. I had money, I had fame, I had football, I had lowB repuSs, everything. But I lost my soul, as a man, as a person, as a son. And that hurt everybody.

Never know what a man (or woman) is going thru, until you walk in their shoes.

Good for Ben, but-

Ignite Men's Conference? Lol.

Even more, imagine a two-day event packed full of workshops, exhibits, and fun around the stuff that men love: hunting, fishing, football, motorcycles, racing, extreme sports, and other outdoor activities

Pretty interesting list of activities hahaha.

BTW, they invited Tony Stewart? Didn't he basically kill a guy on TV?

You mean a dumb *** who got out of his car and walked across the track during a race?

Long off season. Good for Ben though.
The guy took advantage of a 2nd chance. Although I don't know him personally. Seems he matured enough and really embraced his role as a leadah

Tomlin unconcerned by Ben's retirement talk?

"I think it’s a very reasonable discussion when you get to 35," Tomlin added. "It’s probably not the first year he’s gone through that process and it probably won’t be the last if he continues." Tomlin seems unconcerned by the retirement talk, and there has not been any indication the Steelers are taking the discussion seriously. Roethlisberger will almost certainly return in 2017.

A-N-D a DAD..............

Salute the nation

crappy taste in music, but I'm happy for him he saw the light. The people you don't want to disappoint the most is your family.

Why did he cry when a TobyMac song came on? Was his radio broken and he couldn't change station / turn it off?

TobyMac is a christian artist. So I'd assume the meaning was deeper than the crappy part. Wholesome yes

Typical coach speak. My @ss, he's concerned. How could he not be?

Losing a HOF caliber player, still in his prime at Quarterback makes or break teams.

Because he's a fake Christian speaking at a fake University about his own narcissism

That's the gospel.

Notice that Ben's foundation started giving money to cops for dogs after he got in trouble with the law the first time?

Not homeless shelters, feeding the needy etc. I mean why would you want to do what Jesus would do anyway?

As phony as a 3 dollar bill, and as phony as that crappy music he listens to.

You are a hateful little man/women/whatever. As soon as you hear Christian all rational thought goes out the window in blind hatered. If he was muslim you would defend him to the ends of the Earth.

If he was a Muslim the constant praying during the game would just screw up the flow.

Oh yeah fu** Allah.

There are you happy?.

I forgot you hate all religion. Just that you hate Christians more than Muslims.

I don't hate religion. I just think it's stupid and want to throw up in my mouth when I see people like Ben in this case who pull this type of crap.

I digress.

So their is no room in your heart to believe he might actually have had a change of outlook in his life?
