It will to Tomlin, that will buy him at least one more year as they can fire or not renew Butlers contract after next season and Tomlin will get at least one more year.
 
I am starting to wonder why Butler would want to stay if he doesn't get to run the defense. Money I guess.

He's been in Pittsburgh forever, he's 64, he's not going to be a head coach, he's getting paid to be a DC, but not having to be a DC.
