Steelers VS Broncos game thread.

I like the attitude, but we've only beaten one team with a winning record. If you think it looked like we were the better team today, you might have some goggles on. They put it on us, and we had a chance to tie it, and we ****** it up.

We marched up and down the field at will, should have been a 34-10 game.

I guess it's a perception thing. I saw a different game. They completed drives and scored 24 points. Not sure how you came up with 10 points as the right number for them.

14 of their points were the result of a TO. 24-14=10

We just see the game differently. I saw their offense effective against us, and our offense retarded against them. Sure, if we had no turnovers and all our players made no mistakes, and our defense was great, we would blow them out.
 
Case keenan put up 322 on the Rams, with 2 TDs.

Den scored 23 on kc twice and 20 on the Rams. Do you really think that our D wouldn't give up 20-24 points?

20 teams, so far, put up 20 or more points this weekend and some of them still lost. Every team that won scored 23+.

The fact that our D gave up 24 is far less concerning than our O scoring 17.

In today's NFL scoring 17 isn't going to win a lot of games.

For the most part, we were moving the ball well. 3 of the 4 TOs were by people they rely on game in and game out. **** happens. It's not like you can, or should, bench Ben or Connor. I don't recall if I have ever seen grumble fumble, but he might have. Those 2 play calls were awesome.

On the goal line at the end, they should have given Connor the ball 2x. Who knows maybe he was all up in his head and not feeling it and that is why they didn't. Maybe, a bit of lost trust for the day.

So what? The Jets hung 34 and only gave up 16 to them. Anybody can point to individual games to prove a point. The fact is that Denver has beaten one team (A division rival at that) with a decent record. Their other wins come against the horrible Cardinals, horrible Raiders and a mediocre Seattle team the first game of the year. They are not a good team.
 
Folks can say the Broncos are better than their record but it's pretty fair to say the Steelers may be worse than their record as well.

I wouldn’t say we are worse than our record, I would say that we are inconsistent, and that seems to be a trend year in and year out. Whether you blame it on execution, play calling, game plans, or coaching, it is a trend that we don’t beat the teams we should and we play down to opponents. Until someone figures out how to get this team to execute on a consistent basis it will be the same story over and over.
 
Steelers are not in same class as the Chiefs Pats Saints or Rams. Too many fuckups on the team. I see them stumbling into playoffs and losing to Chargers in wildcard game
 
They may not even make the playoffs. The Ravens are only 1/2 game behind. And the Steelers have the most brutal final stretch in the league.

With their inconsistent play it is impossible to expect them to win any of their remaining games. We can hope. We can be overjoyed if they do. But expect...?
 
Not for nothing, but they are a game and a half behind.
 
We left easily 10 points on the field. Add those, lost to poor technique holding the ball, or fluke blocked FG, and we win easily. We beat ourselves with mistakes and bad form. I do NOT put this on JC’s fumble at all. It was a freak hit as he tried to hurdle the tackler. Should have protected the ball better, but not why we lost.
We continue to be our own worst opponent with mental errors and play calling.

And were moving the ball quite liberally. The first INT had zero to do with their pass D as the ball went right to their player.

You could argue that the 2nd did too. Announcers kept saying the DL dropped back. It looked equally likely he was pushed back by pouncey. Either was was irrelevant, the best result for that pass was incomplete since another D player was there. That was a bad decision on Ben's part.

The error, IMO, was the passes on that last 1st and goal. They were stacking the line for a run, but with our OL you gotta run it 2x. If you dont make it, that gives you better ability to play action on 3rd and 4th.
 
So...games 1-3, i wore pouncey Jersey.

Next several games, i wore miller Jersey.

Yesterday, had been working in the yard, so didnt even put on a jers3
 
Next Ark is going to tell us his wife was baking Apple Turnovers during the game.:chargrined:
