Have any of you checked out Steelers.com in the two videos they have up? Claypool and Carlos Davis chime in with various reporters asking them questions. One thing I see is different football camps are taking different steps to how they approach the players conditioning. The Colts take a conditioning approach with heart monitoring. Curious how that is working for them. For the Steelers obviously Tomlin's approach is to tell them what he expects from them as he isn't going to hold their hands. He expects them to stay conditioned. The thing is listening to both players you can see a vast difference in approaches. Claypool has fields, weights, and two coaches teaching him...guiding him. Man just hearing from the kid knowing how he is approaching things brings me a certain level of confidence that this guy is going to do everything to get on the field and play early.

I don't want to knee jerk Davis but working out with bands? I dunno I just didn't take from his talk the same level of confidence. I didn't get the feeling he was going all out. Now I could be wrong and I am ok if I am but my first impression isn't a glowing one. Both videos are available on Steelers.com if you would like to view them and see if your initial impressions differ. One earlier report on Davis I think it was Steelerdepot was that he was considered a rawish prospect. So with the recent history failings of last round picks, and lumping what I have seen and read so far it wouldn't shock me if Davis was a PS player this year. He is already behind the eight-ball with the virtual approach. I think with the depth at the position plus everything I have mentioned it is going to be a steep climb for him. If I am wrong the Steelers benefit and I would like that. We'll see.

Nice write up slash and I'll be checking those videos out soon. I'm on the Claypool bandwagon as I read his work ethic is rather high and he wants to be the MAN. I'll take that hunger anytime as it's a big factor in motivation.

Salute the nation

I think the biggest thing for the young players will be not the weight lifting it will be having someone help them with the info and take it to the field.
I believe they will be pleased with Claypool.

I’m still laughing at “working out with bands” statement. Hahaha

Someone was pushing around cars. Now that's called creativity and getting it done. Use what you have if you don't have your own equipment.

I think that was Bigdot if I remember correctly.

So he’s working out with bands? Does that mean he gets hammered drunk and then has to move all the Amps, drums and sound boards around 215 am?
