If true, then the brain trust is even stupider than I thought.

According to an interview in the Tampa Bay Times, XFL commissioner Oliver Luck is quoted as saying that the Steelers wanted to sign quarterback Landry Jones back to the team after losing Roethlisberger to a season-ending elbow injury in Week 2. However, Luck essentially went on to say that being as Jones had already signed a contract with the Dallas Renegades of the XFL that the league wasn’t going to relinquish the rights so that he could sign with an NFL team.

looks true to me

Reaching out to see if someone was available, doesn't mean they were going to sign him. And I'm glad they stuck with the guys that performed well in camp this year. Plus I'd rather have Paxton than Laundry at this point in their careers.

I remember the XFL put out a little blurp at the time it was happening. I think they tried to ride it's publicity but found the player in question just didn't garner the publicity stunt wanted. Don't get me wrong because Landry is surely a good person but I think he was ending and our current guys are just getting started.

Fly like a "duck" into the future............ sing along now lit'L cowpokes....

Salute the nation

I dunno, he's better than Rudolph.

Landry Jones didn't stick on ONE nfl roster all last year after we cut him loose. He went to Jax even, and didn't stick there. The guy sucks, like really sucks, plain and simple. I wish him the best in the XFL, but he's not an nfl quarterback, not even at backup.

Thank god dirty Laundry wasn't able to come back

Understandable given the untested nature of Ben's backups at the time. Very glad the XFL held the line on that one. No question in my mind The Duck is better now than Landry Jones ever was or ever will be.

both laundry and lynch stink maybe lynch if brought asa camp arm could push mason. got to be some reason why he was a rnd 1 pick, at worst should of been a rnd 3 pick

I believe Rudolph is headed that same direction. Dude was given MANY chances, and got worse to where the game plan on offense was trying to hold on for a couple of minutes to give the D a rest. Jones, Rudolph... bleh

Thanks Ollie.

No doubt the XFL will do well with him at the helm.

So, the coaches had no faith in Rudolph or Hodges when Ben went out.
