What Rush said. Black QBs in that era were all the rage and Next Big Thing. The media tended to overinflate impact on changing the game and value. All these years later, Vick was mothballed and LJ is starting to show signs of Kordell 2.0.

Ben by comparison is just a plodding, overweight, older white QB still playing second fiddle to pretty boys Brady, Brees, and Rodgers and now new young guns Mahomes, Watson, and Russell Wilson.

When it's all said and done, Ben will/is top 5 in playoff wins already and will be Top 8-10 in all major categories without ever sniffing a MVP vote. Part of it too was the Game Manager label for the '00s.
