As a # 3 this is huge. Herbig can learn the ropes, & whet his whistle as the # 4…We absolutely needed a vet here…The Khan Artist in the house

I like quincy Rouche, but I wasn’t fond of him being the forth string olb if Herbig was the third because both of them are undersized… one guy like that can be great, but having too many can sometimes cause issues if you have two undersized guys playing at the same time
 
good move. now as others have said get a ILB next. in retrospect should just resigned whats his name guy that signed with the Raiders. ok maybe not if I can remember his name.
 
Solid pickup. He won't put up huge numbers, but a proven, experienced veteran. At the very least he'll at least be able to contribute generating some pressure, even if it doesn't always result in sacks.
 
I wanted this kid in the Draft when he came out in 2015. He's an excellent filler for the Edge. At 32 years old he's still got some years left in him. Excellent signging!
 
One year removed from an 11 sack season. A guy who can spell Watt and Highsmith and keep the group fresh and help the team develop Herbig. Roche might be odd man out and end up on the practice squad.

Unless they move herbig to a hybrid OLB/ILB, they did cut ILB Tae Crowder who I thought had a real chance to make the roster.
 
So Dupree wanted just a single year deal and we would budge on that from a 2 year deal.

I thought that was a possibility but from what I read that isn't the plan. Maybe once they get to camp they will give him a shot at ILB. Can't hurt to try.

Which is why they were ok with a 1 year deal instead of a two year deal

This year there are still a half dozen edge guys floating around… so a guy like golden who was behind several other guys in the pecking order and who was coming off a bad year… i mean he really did not have leverage

Typically edge rushers are in high demand but this season there just was a high amount of vets with questions on the market
