Steelers sign TE Bucky Hodges & OT Kyle Meadows.

They also waived LB Darnell Leslie & waived/injured TE Ryan Malleck.

You can combine this with the other thread if you wish. Both were created around the same time.........

TE is a camp body, unless Vance falls apart. Vance, JJ, and X-man are locks. Pharoh is better then anyone else they'll bring in. He'll be PSed if he clears waivers. Plus we still have that Rugger that is roster exempt. The rule may help him sneak on a roster.

Hodges immediately becomes our most athletic TE . He has a decent chance of ousting Grimble thank god.

he's 25 lbs lighter than grimble, i'm not holding my breath. just another fuckoff out there.

You have never seen him play evidently. Grimble is a stiff and a poor blocker. Hodges is ultra athletic and a poor blocker.

Grimble's strength is is receiving, route running, and speed. His negative was his blocking. Looks like he's getting praise for his blocking this season.

Great analogy and also this is what TC battles are for, to determine the best 53. We all have our opinions and and I like the fact they are bringing in competition to make sure our guys are the best. Hodges has a chance but he is going to have to earn it, same as Grimble. Good luck to the best making the cut.

Salute the nation

Grimble is awful with drops and he has never transferred his alleged talent to the field.

hodges is going to have to WOW the coaching staff to make the team, i'm betting he won't. grimble has been here multiple seasons, knows the offense, and has shown the ability to make some catches from time to time. when it's a JAG (just a guy), and you bring along another JAG, usually the guy who's already in place will keep his job.

lol look out, NFL! We have the next mark bavaro in one bucky hodges! I'm amped!

Your know it all act is a little weak. Grimble is a bum and the Steelers have not been happy with him.

Well thank goodness we have the next all-time great at the TE position to replace him! Whew!

and you know this how?

so unhappy he still sits on the roster....

grimble is the 3rd TE on a team without great strength at that position. so he is vulnerable.
If Tuman came out of retirement we'd all be thankful for the upgrade. lol

Yep, Grimble was undrafted out of college for a reason, lack of ability. Hodges was a 6th round draft choice who was projected to go much earlier. He is also a Virginia Beach boy and we know how much Tomlin loves guys from the Tidewater area.

I get the Tackle move. They could bring in another 6 as far as that goes. Don't get the TE. Truth is that anyone who is on the street at this point isn't even making a PS unless you are talking about a Bryant or someone else on the street for reasons other than ability..

That explains the signing!
