The Steelers announced the signing of three more players formerly of the defunct AAF League. Defensive tackle Winston Craig, linebacker JT Jones and cornerback Kameron Kelly. All three have spent time on NFL practice squads, or preseason rosters. All three came into the league as undrafted free agents. Kelly Craig Jones

Isn't that 5 total? Good job Colbert on looking for potential depth..

That is five and like yaz said slash, good job on FO looking to better the team. If one or two of the five stick, it's a VERY good thing for depth. I don't think any of them will be starters but if one or two can roster then GREAT JOB.

I'm a little amazed at the activity, regardless of big name or not, the FO is showing this year. Puzzle pieces

Second chances.
Steelers providing the opportunity

If one of these guys works out its a win. I think for the most part they will be fairly early cuts this summer but if as I mentioned one guy makes the 53 thats a win right? AT least Kevin made an effort to add some depth to the team. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Coach may be upset though. No punter!

Are all the teams signing AAF players ?

Is this a conscious effort to support some of the players that were left in the dust and rubble of the defunct ( NFL attempt at a farm ) league?

Is there a genuine concern that some of these players might have been a detriment to the NFL image moving forward ?

Players found out about the suspension through the Internet before their coaches confirmed the news.[29] Players were evicted from the hotels where their teams were being housed—with some being personally charged for unpaid hotel bills[30]—and required to pay their own way home; they also lost their health insurance and were forced to cover their own medical bills from injuries sustained during play.[31] League employees were notified via an April 2 letter from the AAF board, which did not give a reason for ending the season,[28] that their jobs were terminated as of April 3 with no severance.[30] Ebersol and Dundon refused public comment.[30]

This is not the first shot at the big league for these guys...is this time legit or just more camp fodder ?

Hey...somebody's got to pick up Katsung's slack.

Chip, I realize the sarcasm but I don't think this is a hand out. As greedy as the NFL is, they are NOT just going to make a "kind gesture" stand to someone who has no chance. I'm sure the STEELERS have the motive of bettering thier team and if you don't cut it, you are gone...........syndrone.
