With free agency coming up, the Pittsburgh Steelers have began to make moves to solve their cap situation. As of today, they have restructured All-Pro defensive lineman, Cameron Heyward’s contract:

The #Steelers did a basic conversion restructure on DL Cam Heyward’s contract, source said, and he’ll still make $10.5M this season. But roster bonus and base were converted to a signing bonus and created about $7M in cap room.

This move clears up about $7M in cap space, a welcoming number for a team that needs help in the cap space arena. Look forward to more moves like this in coming weeks.
