"A lot of people talk about the season I had last year. They call it a breakout season, but I don't look at it like that," the third-year Steelers running back told ESPN.
"I look at it as me just getting started. ... I still feel like I can do a lot of things better. Last year wasn't even close to me being my best."

Light em up!

Go Ben! Get me and my man LaVeon and AB 3 TD's apiece and lay a 50 burger on them sheep with lots of points.

Go gettum baby!

I don't speak French that's why I call him LaVeon

Kid, just ease yourself back into the game....don't be tryin to over exert yourself and end up hurtin yourself.

That's probably wise parental advice...but Mike says he's gonna run the wheels off him and I believe him

amen

Bell came into the league as a big sluggish back, had a mediocre 1st year and resculpted his body and became the best all around back in the game, I have no doubt that bell will get better and better.

He came into the league hurt.....if that made him as you say sluggish.....maybe. Or he was still a rookie playing on a gimpy wheel.

I respect what he has to say. He knows his body and has an idea if better or not. ONE factor of his "betterness", is the improvement of the OFFENSIVE LINE. I hope he is eased and the game on sunday, allows it. GREAT job LeVeon, sounds like you've been working on your time off.

He came in at around 244 pounds, he was pudgy and a lot slower and had none of the incredible quickness he now has, look at his body then and now and you can see how he has transformed himself.

I know everyone says he was 244. I don't buy it. Did he lose weight? Yep. I just don't buy his "mediocre" first year was due to his weight but more so coming off an injury in his ROOKIE year.

He'll never amount to anything because his head is too big.

If he, is just .5 more explosive and quicker, that should scare a lot of people going against the Steelers this season.

It doesn't really matter much if he is 10X more explosive, because he is going to see more holes anyhow... if anyone has noticed, through the first two games teams have swamped Antonio brown in coverage... often dedicating 3 players to his coverage and almost always playing dime or some other DB heavy set. Deangelo Williams didn't just suddenly find the fountain of youth... Ben simply audibles to a run when there is no one in the box and there is open space galore. Teams are triple covering the guy who still leads the league in yardage and probably will in receptions again too... they cant back off of that coverage and that means Bell will have all the room in the world to work with quite often

Which is why he will have an explosive year.

How on earth can any team cover all the weapons we have. If teams put too many men on Brown, and Bell, Bryant, Wheaton, and DHB should be running free any time Ben wants to look for them, and Miller won't have a soul near him. Tombert may have done a questionable job bringing in defensive talent, but they've done a great job loading up on the offensive side of the ball, which in today's game, might be the right way to go.

It's amazing how, while taking a hit off the shared smoke stick, how much negative pressure is applied in that head. YET, it continues to grow.........................

I don't remember Bell being sluggish, he was hurdling tacklers in college. Sluggish backs don't jump over people while running at full speed.

And they still can't stop AB.

Read the scouting reports on him.out of college, they all talk about his lack of vision and lack of quick feet and agility. In his rookie year he was slow to the hole and could not accelerate when he did hit a hole cleanly. He has dropped 20 pounds while getting in incredible shape and his quickness and agility is incredible as a result.

Being a ROOKIE is no excuse, rookie RBs thrive all the time in the NFL, the reason Bell was not thought of as a franchise back coming out of college is because he was big and slow and showed none of the quick or agility he is now using as the best back in the league.

Yep...Bell losing weight made his vision to the hole great....gotcha.

I thought when he was a rookie everyone, meaning the Steelers, was talking about how great he looked in camp.

What he's really trying to say is he feels the heat from Williams performance. Not saying Williams is as good,, or Williams can replace him just saying; competition is a good thing.

This could be a great motivator performance wise and as motivation to stay out of trouble.
