Report: Saints, Bills, Steelers tried to claim Ekpre-Olomu

At least three other teams tried to claim cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, who was waived by the Cleveland Browns this week and claimed by the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday.

The New Orleans Saints, Buffalo Bills, and Pittsburgh Steelers all put in waiver claims, ESPN's Field Yates reports, citing a source. The Dolphins won his rights by virtue of a higher waiver priority.

Ekpre-Olomu was once considered a likely first-round draft pick, but slid to the the Browns in the seventh round of the 2015 draft after suffering a major knee injury at the end of his college career.

Ekpre-Olomu spent his rookie year on IR and the Browns apparently don't feel he's likely to contribute this coming season. He disagrees, and has stated he believes he's nearing full health.
 
I liked this guy a lot. He had 2nd to 3rd round ability prior to the injury. Some say 1st round ability.

What's with the Clowns getting rid of their secondary? They unloaded a safety on Friday (Whitner) who led the team in tackles or something, now this.
 
They have one of those smart baseball analytics guys. These moves look good on an excel spreadsheet so you can't question it.

We shouldn't just drafted him in the 7th round. Instead we took a stupid flyer on Gerrod Holliman just because he had some easy int's thrown his way.
 
He's listed at 5-10. Probably too tall for our secondary.
 
Hell I would have traded one of our 7ths this year for Ifo. Too bad we didn't think in advance.

I have a good feeling about Sammy and this year. He will be getting a lot of space early on due to AB and Wheaton getting the focus of the defensive backfield. Sammy vs a LB is a match up we should be able to win.

Oh...and add in Green and Bell! Whoa **** will his opportunities be there.

And lost Skrine the year before. Also lost S TJ Ward that year as well, and he won SB with Denver. And Gilbert is a bust. All the have is Joe Haden back there but have endless cap space.

Born losers.Other than OSU, entire state is.
