WOOOOHOOOOO!!!

McCullers represented himself pretty well out there on the field. Certainly didn't do anything too bad out there to hurt future play time.
Tuitt is going to be a good player very soon.
Antonio Brown is just amazing! I still say he was in on that TD catch!

WE WIN! WE WIN!!! YAY!!!

Bell is the one helluva RB. Seven straight 100 yard games this season. Yep, he is bringing it!

The ball sure did bounce our way at the end of the second half. Had it not been for that the steelers would have likely lost a close game. They played much better than they had lately. Worilds was busy celebrating, Spence was recovering a fumble. Da beard catches a bounce off of TIMMONS face mask and gets us inside the 10. There were some good plays out there last night and even where lots of luck was involved they still made some good plays. It is not reasonable to count on luck so if the steelers are going to win some more games they need to get better each week, by a pretty good amount.

Good things Bell is versatile. Brown is great. Bryant looks promising, We have a solid kicker. We still need more things to get better. McCullers is doing ok. Tuitt looks like he can be good.

Definitely a weird game. The D played good overall, but the offense still was not great. The texans were very sloppy and handed us the game. I hope mccullers gets to keep his hat now. On a side note i did not notice harrison?

Cam Thomas looked bad on most plays I saw him. McCullers first 3 plays looked decent. The first two were runs and he buried his guy to the ground and then got up and chased the play. On the 3rd play, he was pushing the center straight back into the pocket. Nothing spectacular but he did hold his own and should get more snaps each week I didn't see much of his other plays he may have had after that.

I see no way they should keep Bryant and McCullers from dressing and Tuitt from getting a bunch of snaps. Bryant had the one TD and could have had a long catch but Ben over threw him by a yard. Wheaton had no catches in the game. That surprises me. He looked so good the first 4 games but not so much the last 3. Not sure what the problem may be.

If McCullers does not get a hat and playing time from this game on, then the coaching staff is a bunch of FOOLS. They could not stop him.

Defense still gee up soft passes, and Luck will pick them apart if we can't get to the QB. But improved...

Ben got the win, but his passes were off all game and pretty much have been all season. His window is closing, and its closing fast.

Remember, yards from scrimmage. He is a very very good RB with sky the limit qualities.

Harrison got called for roughing the passer on a play VERY similar to JJ Watt taking Ben R. down after the play. One difference, Watts never got flagged. I think James played a strong point, turned it in when needed.

Salute the nation

Yeah, but according to Gruden, the Steelers need more from him.

true. we need him to replicate, put on weight, take some OL spots and block for himself.

Game didn't change my stances on the coaches, although I did enjoy the game.

I am enjoying the week, as a result. But moving forward I realize some things:

the Steelers still need a change in coaches as:

Houston isn't a good team and handed the Steelers that victory
Controlling the game toward the end, it was still bombs away instead of finishing with Bell and Blount, why?
Cortez Allen played entirely too much.
Rushing three was a brilliant idea, as those extra bodies in coverage sure helped a lot on that one series (insert sarcasm smiley)
Out of the gates this team was once again not prepared, starting out flatter than Olivia Newton Johns ****.

Make no mistakes about it the Colts will destroy this team. and the roller coaster season will continue. With the team doing just enough for the coaching staff to be retained.

Steelers will not be a competitive team weak in and weak out until they are replaced.

Now for my pom pom

I liked:

Bells and Antonio's efforts
D's energy level
Bryant finally got a hat (long overdue)
Ben bounced back from a horrible performance (but looks a step slower) but still has gunslinger capability, give the man some weapons instead of canning his WRs yearly and he might be able to develop consistency. Nah Haley is still here scratch that.

Going forward next year the team needs (besides a change in coaches).

A WR /TE/pass rushing OLBer/CB/ SS.

Some of it will have to be free agency again as the draft can't solve all of this lack of talent issues......................

I was impressed with special teams last night. Punt and kick coverage was dang near perfect.

Nice to see the D get some turnovers too.

Hey, how about three cheers for the old guys?

--Troy being Troy with the leap and fumble recovery-also, did anyone else notice that Troy ran down Foster from behind in the 1st qtr?
--Harrison being Harrison and kicking some *** (ok, so it was a penalty, but it just bias)
--Keisel with the INT

Game reminded me of the old times in several ways.

McCullers was a beast in the middle and I loved seeing big and nasty in the middle again. He has a long way to go as he missed quite a few plays that he could have made if he had kept his balance and kept his head up. But demanding a double team and pushing the Center backwards was Casey Hampton-esq! Tuitt did well too, I thought. Cam Thomas needs to be handed a grocery cart and a brown paper sack to told to get-ta-stepp'n!

I'll go with Troy and Keisel as they still make the occasional play.

For how much I love Deebo he is done. and Troy is nipping on his heels.

There were actually some good things to take away from that game. Still need work on this team but hey some good things are still good things.

Another difference, James had his head in a position where he really couldn't have seen whether the ball had already been thrown. Watts could clearly see the ball was out,

I said the same thing when the flag was thrown and the contact was not in anyway over the top. I think the zebras still have a bounty on James he should not be fined but likely will.

good things will occasionally get you a win

bad coaching will every other week get you a loss

Colts are licking their lips as I type this.

I think you may have misread the thread title.

This is the 'Pom Pom' Thread. Not the 'Fire MT/Haley/DL' Thread

Until he was called for a false start I didnt hear Mike Adams named called. Which is a good thing for a OL.

I would view it as the Steelers defense being the ones forcing the opportunities...instead of the Texans giving them to the Steelers.

Mike Mitchell and Worilds definitely forced the Texans into those TOs. They were far from gimme's. The Kiesel INT was a little flukey- but we are finally seizing the those opportunities. How many INT's have we seen our CB's drop throughout the years?

Pom Pom:
Mike Adams was solid. Considering who he was going against all night- the light may be clicking on. Especially knowing his opportunities are limited.
Bell is a top 3 back; Brown is arguably a top 5 WR.
Ben was erratic for the first 15 minutes but quickly turned it on.
We need more Bryant and Bey- we need less Wheaton
I no longer have to hold my breathe when the Special Teams is on the field.
