Steelers officially send Le'Veon Bell to I.R.

I can't wait to watch you eat your words.

Really? We scored 10 points will all of our key offensive players against the Bengals and 12 against the Rams. Landry Jones put up 13 against the Chiefs and most of the 25 against the Cardinals. Vick put up 20 against the Ravens and 24 against the Chargers. I'm not all that impressed with our starting 2015 offense. The most points scored all season were against the 49ers without Bell or Bryant.

Maybe Cincinnati Defense had something to do with that yesterday.

I'm sure they did. However if you go look at the game thread and the prediction thread nobody thinks they are that good. What good is an offense that can only score against bad defenses? This offense has never been consistence. They struggled last year with the Jets, TB etc. Then they would explode against the rats and bungles. Even at full strength they were inconsistence. Now they have injuries at key positions and I'm not sure Ben is going to be 100% for awhile.

anybody have the same thoughts as i, that the bungles are out to do harm to the steelers. just seems ironic that they took bell out two years in a row!!
undertone of payback for us breaking palmers leg in the post season?

David Todd reported that Bell has a torn PCL as well.

I'm willing to wait and see how the team performs against an Oakland team that seems to be coming into their own. The key with the Bengals is they play the Steelers twice a year and are quite familiar with players, game plans and coaching. Add to that they played with the same chip on their shoulders that we used to see from a hungry young Steelers team from years gone by. Finally, as noted by at least one of the Bengals players, the Steelers "punked" them to win the division last season and they weren't going to let that happen again.

Hindsight. I don't do predictions because I'm horrible at it. But I read the threads. Nobody said that before the game. Almost everybody thought (and still thinks) they are overrated. The Steelers offense is inconsistent even when everyone is healthy. Oakland doesn't mean much to me. Oakland gave up 33 points to the bungles and the rats. Even if they win I'm not sure that shows anything. How are they going to do against a good defense like Seattle and Denver? With Ben I think they'll probably make the playoffs unless they just implode.

Then surgery is coming up and probably the reason for the IR. Let's hope he comes back not terribly affected.

Yes, I'm developing true hatred for the Bungals. The game yesterday reminded me of Steelers-Gayvens a little bit.

2 knee injuries now for Bell. That has definitely taken a couple years off his longevity. He'll get his big contract but that will probably be about it. He very well may wear out by the end of it. I hope not but knee injuries are bad for a RB, especially 2 on the same knee already.

Aye

in all the hoopla of season talk, I feel for him

I feel for the heartbreak that Bell must feel. He was ready for a special season.

'Next man up', doesn't even do him justice.

Precisely!

This is what bothers me. I've been referring to him as the new Barry Sanders. One of those backs that come along every rare once in a while that even opposing fans secretly love to watch. Just a master of his art. I pray he comes back a complete and 100% effective Leveon. Only time will tell.

Sorry to hear Bell. Get well soon. With this injury, his timetable of recovery is August 1. That is 9mos. He's not going to be 100% in Training camp.

Bell = Pouncey

In the inujry department. This just might mean that we make Bell the highest paid RB .....EVER!!!

Trying to figure out the Pead signing. I understand midway through the season you're picking off the scrap heap regardless, but RB is one of those positions where it's not unthinkable that you could find some talent looking for work. This kid has accomplished nothing in the league

He was drafted in 2012. His first season was 2013. He missed all of last year because of an injury. Not saying I agree with the signing, but give the kid a chance.

Lol "do harm"? We're talking about football here. So no, mr 2 posts, I dont think they were out there to "do harm". I think they were trying to beat their division rival, same as what the Steelers were doing.
