Steelers added S Jordan Dangerfield to the practice squad and released S Jacob Hagen. Dangerfield was released heading into the regular season when he was injured in the Steelers last preseason game. He has been on the active roster the last two seasons as a reserve and special teams player. Hagen was released and signed […]

Won't be too long and Cam Sutton will be eligible to return from IR. After the bye week I think.

I'd guess Sensabaugh or McCullers if it was right now. Lot can happen between now and then.

If one of those two listed has to go.. I prefer tree stump, to hit the road.

There's a hell of a lot more to this team operation than the average knows. This guy sitting within earshot of me yesterday, was making all these managerial comments and moves that he would make. Now I'm not a guru by any means but I did ask him some pretty basic questions and he failed miserably. Cap problems, who currently on the roster would you replace "said" player with, stuff like that. His little entourage were loving him wallowing............... I cleaned it up and made sure he didn't look to bad and actually helped him with a topic or two. Never do I get a kick out of making someone feel bad as we all have a common denominator,........OUR BELOVED STEELERS............

Dangerfield was hurt. He was released to recover. Now he's healthy. I do like Hagen a lot as well, but Dangerfield is better out of the 2 of them. I'd bring Dangerfield up and cut Mitchell tomorrow, but I'm not the GM...

Two different positions affecting two different depth charts. I would say William Gay would be my first choice to cut but he's actually getting defensive snaps (around 20 a game) and we aren't calling his name out. To me that is a good thing since Haden and Burns are really locking **** down and Hilton has taken over the rover or slot DB position. Sutton could easily come back and play special teams only in place of Sensabaugh, return kicks/punts (get Juju the **** out of there) and can get a few defensive snaps if he is needed. Also factor in cap hit, easy to cut Sensabaugh. I don't have a preference who gets cut, I just want to get this young buck out on the field so he can return and make special teams plays.

I think I saw Alualu playing some DT last game when Hargrave was not on the field. That would be my first choice as a backup DT to Hargrave given his size and experience. McCullers hasn't done **** for us except get pushed around. Would have loved to see him become a real force but that ship has sailed.

regarding Sensabaugh you don't cut the only guy with experience playing outside (aside from old yeller Willie Gay), Hilton is a slot CB and a very good at it so they won't move him outside if any of the starters have to miss snaps. Rather cut Gay or Golden and move Gay to 4th S

Golden has 114 ST snaps, 6 on D. He has a role.

Sensabaugh: 56 snaps on ST, 0 on D.

Sensabaugh makes the most sense. He plays the same position and Sutton would not only take his ST snaps, but also could log KR and PR snaps. Brian Allen as 0 snaps on D and 14 on ST, but the Steelers are basically protecting him on the roster while he gains experience. There is a high chance that he'd be poached from the PS (due to his size/speed metrics) if he was on it.

We only have 4 safeties, so Golden isn't going anywhere, unless Dangerfield gets called up.

Outside options:

Moats 30 ST snaps 13 on D, though I like the depth here paired with Harrison's age.

Big Dan: 7 D snaps 0 on ST. Only active for one game

Brian Allen has played only 14 snaps on ST if anyone makes the most sense it is him.

I personally don't cut the 6'3" rookie that runs a 4.4 40. Especially since he showed some talent in the pre season.

He may be a few years away, but he's got great measurables to build on. Enough that the Steelers chose to roster him, instead of exposing him to the practice squad. IMHO, if he's cut, someone makes a waiver claim. McCullers, Moats, Sensabaugh, I don't think anyone will scramble for them.

I'm on the McCullers gone wagon in my thinking....................But then I've been told I really don't think things through at time.............I guess wearing things on my sleeve offends at times. McCullers seems to add very little to the mix. Moats is just to veteran to waive. Sensabaugh is needed as we don't want short handed on DBs.

As for ALLEN, definately a keeper.

Id vote Mccullers. Two capable guys in front. Cant see anyone picking him up. If someone was injured you could grab him off the street. His only special team when he gets a hat is kick block I believe.
