Awesome.. I'm glad we doubled up. I think they both can contribute this year

Now let's get Adrian Amos next round

That would make me Happy! I'd even be ok with Jesse James, but if they can continue to add solid DB/S depth, it is only a bonus.

OLumu would be sweet in the 6th

From PFF

Doran Grant, CB, Ohio State

Against Power 5 opponents, Grant held QBs to a passer rating of only 48.0, the second-best mark among corners in this class

yes yes yes !

Like this pick a lot...plus, that's our yearly Buckeye pick so we got that going for us.

Same type player as Golson. Smart heavy run hitter with ball skills and limited size. Looks like a trend.

Yay! 2 nickel corners!!!

I suppose that's how you play a proper dime is if you have 2 nickel corners on the field at the same time!

Funny to see all this harping on height when it comes to CBs .... Grant is the same size as Gay (5-10) and Golson is the same size as Brice McCain (5-9). I know we'd all like to see someone Cortez's height with his head screwed on straight, but it's the draft and you don't always get exactly what you want. But if you try sometime you just may find ....

ESPN draft experts Mike Kiper and Todd McShay verbally approved of the Steelers' pick of Doran, with McShay specifically saying that Grant is a good run stopper and someone Pittsburgh can expect to play in the slot. McShay also said that he wouldn't be surprised if Doran also sees time as a safety given his athleticism versatility.

There's a lot to like about Grant, who heads to the Steelers fresh off of winning a national championship with Ohio State. Listed at 5'11'' and 193 pounds on Ohio State's athletic website, Grant plays bigger than his listed size. He was among the more physical defensive backs in college football last season, and was lauded in his bio on NFL.com for his cagey ability to read screen passes and for his overall football intelligence.

Grant became a play-making cornerback during his senior season at Ohio State, picking off five passes and breaking up nine more. He's a durable athlete, having started in all 15 of the Buckeys games last season and never missing a game in his four years at OSU.

An active run-stopper, Grant is a solid tackler and someone that looks for contact. He is also someone that is always seeking to cause turnovers, and could often be seen in college ripping and slapping at the arms of ballplayers to try to pry the ball loose.

While he has some limitations, McShay said that the things Grant improve on are "all very coachable."

But, but, he's not 6' 4" and doesn't run a 3.75 40!!! And he cannot bench 225 more than 90 times...his three cone shuttle wasn't 4 seconds...his arms are too short and hands too small...his head is too big for the average Steelers helmet - AND he can never wear #12 in the NFL...

He should not have been there for us that late in the 4th round. I was very, very surprised he made it all the way down to us at pick 23 of round #4. Teams had all night to readjust their draft boards and Grant was the top rated corner left on the board at the start of day # 3. I'm glad Cinci decided to take a shot on Josh Shaw instead of Grant one pick ahead of us. Grant fits what we do and the drop off in talent from Grant to the rest of the field remaining was substantial IMO. I guess God is a Steelers fan after all!

This pick put a smile on my face. Grant can play zone or man. He's fast, productive and smart. I view him as a good #2 starting corner / Special teams guy once he learns the system.

Yep I see Grant as developing into an above average to good #2 corner. Not bad for a 4th rounder.

he benched 350 29 times at his pro day :P

Grant was my favorite value pick . He's big enough ( 5'10" 200 pounds ) strong ( 21 reps of 225, which would be good for a linebacker! ) quick, has slightly better than average speed ( 4.44 40 ), tackles very well ( Tomlin said best corner at tackling in the draft ), durable and very smart. Good balls skills! A leader type as well.

I see him as a good #2 corner with man or zone skills. He could play the slot as well. Could be the next Townsend for us.

In 20014 Grant had 63 tackles and five interceptions
