Wormley was on last year of deal. He flashes and dissapears. I guess if he rehabs well and is cheap.

EXTREMELY cheap, to be clear.

Look forward to seeing what Marshall has because his RAS scores coming out were some of the all time best. He scored a 9.99 out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 2 out of 1309 DT from 1987 to 2021. With that score I’m not sure how he ended up in the 6th round?

Yeah makes you wonder if we finally stole one from another team looking to stash someone....

Sucks for Wormley but like so many of our DL, he is just a backup or rotational piece. He is not a starter. This is the reason we need to draft a DL with our top pick or our 2nd pick. It is a must. The DL is only getting worse with Alualu gone after this year. Heyward has maybe one more year. Leal is a piece. Loudermilk is a piece. We have no legit starters other than Heyward for maybe one more year and even he put on some pounds this year (I think to move more inside) and looks to be slowing down. The DL is terrible. If you are only going to put out 2 DL and 2 smaller OLB's, you damn well better have studs for your 2 DL's and we certainly don't. It's a big part of the reason we have been rotating so much - hoping fresher legs throughout the game will mask some of the major deficiencies.

I like the acknowledgement of the fact that we don’t have but 1 legitimate starter on DL. Keep ignoring the Blair in need in both trenches and soon we will be acknowledging we don’t have even 1 legitimate starter on the DL.

Our “trench” workers have been ignored for way way way too long. there needs to be 2 of the first three or 3 of the first four picks invested in “Terence Warfare”.

Keep in mind, BPA is always a factor but it would be nice if that BPA was trench type.

The need for weapons has gotten us here to where we are at now, so keep that in mind.

We are so far away from actually being able to pick BPA. have been for a long time. truth is not many teams can actually do this consistently. as you say it is typically BPA at a position of need.

When was the last time we were in position to actually pick BPA? maybe under Cowher?

Tomlin has chosen to take weapons instead of BPA, Humphreys for an example. (Many years of this type of drafting).

So you may be right in that it goes back to Cowher.

How do we know if Leal or Loudermilk are “just a piece “. Just because they weren’t drafted in round one?
What we do know is that Alualu doesn’t have it anymore. It was pretty easy to see and probably should have been anticipated from game one.
The problem for me is why they don’t play the other two more. If healthy they should be starting all the remaining games. Let’s actually see what they can do.

Leal didn't grade out well against the run the little he did play Sunday. But maybe some of that is coming off injury rust. Not sure what the deal is with Loudermilk but I definitely wouldn't put my eggs in their baskets. They are possibilities but for me not yet probabilities. I don't care where they were drafted just care what they are showing. Leal obviously has the greater upside of the two.

Well they have sooo many needs it almost is like picking BPA. Outside of QB and RB and perhaps TE if Gentry returns. I would imagine he is a cheap resign. Outside of that 1-4 they can go BPA. In the 6th or 7 they probably could take the BPA across the board. If say a RB or TE doesn't resign.

He was a 1 year starter so he is a raw ball of clay. But some of those eventually develop so we'll see.

Yes. Leal has played a whole 113 snaps, and they were in between injuries. Be nice to see him play out the rest of the year.

The Rats game was definitely a step back for Leal. He had been flashing some of his potential before that at least

With Loudermilk adding all that weight he’s still invisible

So, what you're saying is that we need weapons AND trench workers?

I agree. Not a lot to build on these days.

It’s reported that Ola failed his physical and won’t be returning

Yep, him and Will Blackwell will be sharing stories of the rehab room.

Wasn't he coming back from extended time injured ?

This is a monkey show. Come on, man!
