I feel that the FO and ownership really has the feeling that fans are reactionary and fickle. I think there is some validity to that. Now looking back at some higher profile drag out hang ons with this organization:
Cowher: a lot wanted him gone before he won in '05. Their belief in him was warranted. Though shockingly after reaching the pinnacle he was gone a year after.
BA: won a SB, got to another. Seemed like he was going to get Ben killed. People wanted him long gone. Finally he was. Won coach of the year but didn't win anything substantial.
Lebeau: loved the guy. His defense was total **** in his last two three years. Left. Didn't go well in Tenn.
The worst cling on was Todd Haley. **** that was brutal. When he left he was done in Cleveland in what 6 or 7 weeks.
So if you are concerned Tomlin will go on to big things with another franchise I wouldn't be.

It was time for Cowher to go, and it was time for Lebeau to go. It has been time for Tomlin to go.

yeah it was time for Cowher to go, just won a Super Bowl before Ben had his motorcycle accident and was 5-1 in the playoffs with Ben. Tomlin has only won 8 playoff games in 12 years with Ben, sad

You don't remember the Cowher era. With all the talent we had, we still had to get all spittled up like we were underdogs to win. It got tiresome.

As far as LeBeau- as soon a Troy was not there, the defense sucked. Can't have an NFL defense that dependent on one guy. Love LeBeau, but he did not have a defense without Troy.

yeah with Brister, O'Donnel, Kordell and Tomczak it wasn;t great but with Ben is was incredible and would have gotten much better than what Tomlin has cobbled together. Plus Cowher knew how to draft and develop defensive players unlike the imbecile Tomlin.

Finally, the Steelers press calls out the stubborn Rooneys front office

That responsibility starts with team president Art Rooney II playing hardball by forcing the franchise tag on Le’Veon Bell and not signing him to a long-term contract.

It extends to general manager Kevin Colbert failing to address the loss of Ryan Shazier at inside linebacker and to Tomlin for relying too much upon players who aren’t getting the job done.

I am all in on a Cowher redo. Just saying that his game was played here when he left.

Ok I'll take played out , a 15-1 season, a Super Bowl win and 5 playoff wins in only 3 years with Ben. Tomlin has never touched that type of record in 12 years with Ben.

This team is a **** show. It has looked bad or inept in so many ways for too many years. The window to win has a year left with Ben. Maybe two if he really takes his conditioning to the next level.

Absolutely no way in hell they win with the coaches they have now. Zero. They draft like *** year after year on defense and can't develop players into anything. Shazier was the only real standout in 10 years. This ship is sinking and it all starts at the top.

We are....that's what makes us fans. I've never been on the fire Tomlin bandwagon because I try not to be reactionary, but yesterday was a disaster as was the past 3 games. I think his time will run out with the organization if the tams continues losing to bad teams like this. In my opinion, that has been Tomlin's worst problem consistently. Teams with horrible records are his kryptonite.

When Ben retires we'll be looking back on these days as the Golden Years

Ben is what kept this franchise afloat these past few years.
There's a lot of talent to utilize on the offensive side.

Defense front 7 has an ok pass rush. No pass defense and we need serious help at iLB.
Always hear you guys talk about the dark ages of the 80's. Seems we are headed that way

This cant be repeated enough
