Steelers sign free agent DT Roy Philon. Played at Louisville. Spent time in camps with Bears, Lions since 2014

Project, hopefully works out like Big Al

that site is struggling, that's the rumor.

Now they block their articles .... not sure if there is a fee or just a free register... either-ways couldn't have happened to a nicer set of douche-bags

if the paper dies

then it dies....

I thought he looked familiar, he was with the Steelers first as a undrafted free agent and didn't make the final 53, and then moved on...............

he can take for now Cam thomas reps

The PG is doing just fine. My mother works there and is a few weeks from retirement, they are shifting assets and buying up smaller papers and free papers. They know the paper itself will soon become 100% online and by subscribton only. The rest of the content such as items for sale etc will only be in the free regional papers. The world is changing and so is the P.G.

As far as Roy goes.... all I see from him is the bull rush or holding his own until being "Part" of the tackle. I don't see anything exciting. He might make the practice squad and the a HUGE might.

It's so easy to work around the block anyway.

Yah, ed bouchette actually told me to go into internet journalism when I was in college instead of newspaper cause he said it was a dying industry. He was right. I'm actually going to contact him one of these days and see if we can fix the relationship with the PPG.

Could some one post the history of the beef between us and the PG? Ive heard bits and pieces over the years but don't recall ever hearing the whole story about what happened.

Scotty it's simple people like TMC would write a great article on a player or position of need three days later it would come out in the paper with it reworded

I heard it also had to do with the name "steeler nation" too. Didn't they try to sue the board over the use of the name?

IIRC They were upset with the board for posting article clips on the site and gave them a cease and desist order, despite the board providing links to their stuff. They were dicks about everything so it was decided that not only would this board not use their stuff, it would not give them any traffic either

Yea, I encountered the same from them when I ran Pittsburghs sports .com it was a real pain in the ***. Also encouraged bullshit from nfl.com, therfore I will always say where I read the article but never post a link. For those of you who saw the movie long gone many moons ago. Cecil "stud" Cantrell said. "**** em if they can't take a joke." So I say **** em all.

It was uncanny as to how this board articles would end up in that paper. Then they raised a stink as to us linking their aticles. I think at the time, they didn't want to LOSE subscribers to this site. That and this board had some pretty good talent evaluators / writers and I think some of the beat writers were getting embarassed. THIS isn't an arguement as to that time era STEELERNATION board vs current board, so don't go there.

Salute the nation
