1st Round: Leighton Vander Esch, Linebacker: The hype surrounding Vander Esch has only gotten bigger after the combine. Rashaan Evans and Tremaine Edmonds out performed Esch, but he was still excellent. He most definitely shot himself into the later stages of the 1st round and will likely not make it past the Steelers if they […]

Those picks wouldn't upset me if Evans, Edmund and Smith were off the board by our 1st round pick.

One thing that bothers me, post-combine, is when guys shoot too far up the board. From their game performances, if you though they were low 2nd round/upper 3rd round, i'd be careful about booting them into the first based up their combine results. Moving from Early 2nd to Late 1st is one thing. I don't know remember where LVE was slotted before the combine, though.

A QB in round 3 would really piss me off. Given our need on defense, a QB in ANY round would piss me off.

ILB, S, OLB, ILB, WR, TE, RB.

A one year wonder from a small school with a injury past at 1, a QB, and a TE that in no way shape or form will fall to round 5.

I need a drink.

I like Rd 1 and can live with Rd 2 but the QB in Rd 3 makes absolutely zero sense. We did that with Dobbs last year and are still evaluating him. A QB in a later round is almost as bad as the LS last year. That TE also isn't much and I doubt he would even make the team.

Meh.

I'll talk about the players we draft after we draft them.

Picks 1 and 2 are great, but I highly doubt Reid is there for us in round two.

Falk lacks an arm, I'd pass on him.

TE Andrews will be off the board before round 5.

I'd take this draft, but its not happening.

The only pick I like in this draft was Reid. Vander Esch is too risky, IMO, and he's not fast enough for what we do on the field. Oh, did we not state HE SUCKED UNTIL LAST YEAR???

I'm stuck in Elmsford, NY this week - and like Slash, after reading this chyt - I'm going to the bar...NOW.
