Steelers 2015 Draft Critique

Del,

That was a terrible 2013 mock, lol. Kudo's for sharing tho.

Right now, WR is not a lead. Right now, Ben is still in his prime. The Steeler need defense. Its pretty easy to find a solid #3 in free agency or via the draft. Can we afford to keep Brown? I hope so.

Hopefully the Steelers went by their board. If Coated was rated higher then any Defensive prospect then he should of been the pick. Injuries are a big part of the game and any to our top three would force Bey to play a important role. Who wants that??

It's not THAT terrible.

Rhodes and Allen are good players. Thomas and Krugar are on our roster. I still think throwing a late 6th rounder at Rogers wasn't a bad risk/reward attempt. And Ty Powell is actually a pretty decent backup with a lot of versatility (he's in Buffalo right now). And I was correct in deciding not to trade for Landry Jones so I save a draft pick there.

Fair-

You switch Xavier Rhodes for Jarvis and we could have passed on a CB this year. Maybe taking (or most likely would have) Bud + Gregory or some combination this year and sitting pretty on defense.

Only problem is your draft would have left us without a competent RB.

This is a good point. While BPA means a lot in rounds one and two, the talent differential between players is not as great in round three.

Several players can have near even or even grades, so perhaps a need or future projected need. I read stuff that said the Steelers are not going to offer a lot to retain Wheaton as a free agent, so the Coates pick could have had something to do with that.

Colbert is very good at finding WR’s later in the draft. Brown a 6th round choice, and Bryant a 4th round choice. Simply Amazing picks. A++
