And first off I clearly dont think he would have been a difference maker in this game. Problems were much deeper today. But cmon. At least he is a guy who can move the chains. Two games of DHB and Hunter. Tomlin said after he was removed from special teams he lost value. C'mon. The other two are not returners. A guy on a kick cover team or punt cover team only has so much value. Over 70 percent of kickoffs are touch backs and like 1 in 10 punts are returned more then 15 yards. If Rogers moved the chains twice in a game he would far exceed those two stiffs value. Classic Tomlin making an example and being too stubborn to admit he is wrong. Truthfully for what you're getting out of Bryant I might look at JuJu outside and Rogers to slot.

That crap about Eli is bull, he muffed that punt, yet he was out there for all the other punts after that. If he pulled him for muffing that punt, then why was he still returning punts that game after wards still?

Eli got benched last year too. He does something to get in Tomlin's doghouse.

Can't be smoking pot in a car on the way to a game, acting like an *** on the sidelines slapping away your coordinator, getting suspended for a year for smoking weed or being a bust like a former 1st rounder. What could it be that gets under the skin of Captain Cool Shades

He isn't playing because he sucks

He is better than Hunter and gives Ben more options for someone getting open. Hunter is the true one trick pony on the team and in his 2 games only has a few targets with, I believe, zero catches. At least Rogers would have some catches. He was doing OK other than the fumble. He needs to be out there next week and the rest of the season. He and JuJu underneath and over the middle. Bryant needs to be running deep routes and not these BS 5 yard routes. And, then AB does he thing.

Still, you have to wonder why Ben is targeting AB so many times in every game. Is Ben that focused on him? Can Ben not see other WR's getting open? Are other WR's getting open? Does Ben have enough confidence in the other WR's to throw to them?

This is why I hate that our starting O only sees the field for 1 or 2 series in preseason games. No other team does that. They need to see action in at least 2 to 3 of the 4 games to help with their timing and confidence.

He's a quick one that gets open and can catch it. Tomlin benched him in favor of Ju-Ju who is more mistake prone because he's a rookie.

I've heard two media guys already saying that no one else is getting open yesterdays game anyways. Hunter obviously ran the wrong route yesterday, he went straight to the sideline and was immediately met by Jones who was explaining it to him.
Eli is a quick underneath guy, that's what we need right now.

From what i’ve heard, Rogers is not the sharpest tool and not always a hard worker which is why he seems to always be in the doghouse.

Aside from that, it’s obvious why they want Juju on the field. He’s far more talented and he’s physical so they want him out there for his blocking too. Steelers have missed that since Hines Ward.

if Martavis doesn’t pick it up then maybe they need Juju outside and Rogers in the slot.

Why is Hunter dressing ahead of Eli, does Hunter do anything on special teams? Eli had what 40 catches last year. I don't want Eli replacing Juju, by why is Hunter dressing, we have DHB dressed for special teams

Stuck in Tomlin's doghouse, where he belongs

Fumblers get no love from me

Ok Juju is better, and from what Ive seen that is highly debatable. On third down you are at four wide. How does he not make the 4 wide package. Has DHB even caught a ball? Hunter. You can see Ben has some time. AB is doubled (and still wins). Bryant. I have no idea what is up with him. And JuJu the odd time. Bell is getting some but if it is more than 5 it is tough to get out of the backfield. Rogers wins underneath and finds the zone holes. They are sending Bryant on crossers. Its been disasterous.

maybe so, but he didn't fumble away from STs. Which is where he is needed.

This week i’d say Hunter dressed because Martavis was a late add to the injury report for an illness. They want that vertical field stretcher and if Martavis can’t go, they need Hunter. They already have Juju in the slot ahead of Eli and AB can play slot as well so there’s more depth there.

Because Juju blocks. Justin Brown "blocked" too. How'd that turn out?

Bryant can't "pick it up" from the bench.

Ben raves about Eli, so naturally he doesn't play.

If Toddy didn't "create you", he has no use for you.

Eli isn't playing because he doesn't kiss Tomlins ***. Probably the same reason Harrison isn't playing.

My opinion

Some of the problem with Bryant might be that he was sick two weeks in a row. I am sure that factored in on his playing time and performance.

Tomlin loves him some Deebo. No one fumbled and the other doesn't play special teams is the reason. Regardless if we agree with the outcome.

Here's what I don't get, if Eli was benched for that fumbled punt, why was he still returning punts in that game after the fumble

JuJu is far too slow to play outside and a move or two missing as well.

Hines Ward was slow and he did alright on the outside. You have to play the guys who can get open and JuJu will hopefully develop that over time. Right now he's the youngest guy in the league, but seems to have the right mindset and work ethic to improve.

Well, at least we dumped this guy

Markus Wheaton
caught 1-of-4 targets for zero yards in the Bears' Week 5 loss to the Vikings.

In his first two games with Chicago, Wheaton was catch-less on five targets. He now at least has a grab, but it didn't gain any yards. Wheaton led the Bears in snaps played with 46 on Monday night, but he's very clearly a pedestrian player.

I think there was an idea circulating that Tombert had the midas touch with receivers. And going into training camp they looked stacked. When you look deeper Wheaton -failed, Coates- failed, Rogers-inactive, Bryant- ineffective. This team seems to have one receiver right now.
