I don't remember who or which thread.

Ben Roethlisberger completed his 41st game-winning drive in the 4th quarter or overtime of his career, which breaks a tie with John Elway for 6th-most by any QB since the merger.
Per ESPN

Ben is a 1st ballot hall of famer

we are the only fan base that would ***** about this guy

Well, he only has game-winning drives because the Steelers were behind in the first place.

Someone said in another thread that he was tied with smElway / Brees & BEN all at 31

Might have to research this further.................

this could be where the other stats came from

but then there is this

What is a fourth quarter comeback (4QC) and what is a game-winning drive (GWD)?

A fourth quarter comeback is when the team is down 1-8 points in the fourth quarter or overtime, scores on offense, and ultimately wins the game. You can't earn one by running an interception back for the winning score.

A recent example of this is the Ravens' victory over Cleveland last Sunday. Trailing by one point, the Ravens offense took the field in the final two minutes. Flacco delivered a strike to Steve Smith for a gain of 32 yards to set up the game-winning field goal.

Game-winning Drives are a slightly different animal even though most 4QCs are also GWDs. GWDs are when the offense takes the field in the fourth quarter/OT, tied or down 1-8 points, and delivers the points that put the team ahead for good.

Mr. Regular season QB.

Ben is 3-5 in his last eight playoff games, 3-6 if you include the Super Bowl loss to the Packers.

Start Dobbs, he will be our Jesus Christ Superstar since Roethlisberger is a worthless bumb. Some of you are too stupid to recognize how lucky the Steelers have been to have a franchise QB.

So is Tomlin. Rodgers is 5-5 since the Super Bowl in playoff games, without having to go through NE.

Best QB in the history of the franchise. We might be in for some **** when he decides to hang them up. Game time frustrations are one thing, but anybody who doesn't think Ben is not only a HOF, but a lock is an idiot.

I was born in 78, so I just missed the Bradshaw era, so I grew up in between franchise QB's, so probably give him the benefit of the doubt more often than not

I was old enough that I remember the second set of Super Bowls by the 70's group. More of it is based on the film I can watch and all that. You can't really compare era's with all the rules changes and player movement you actually get now. We've been extremely fortunate other than the idiotic decision to pass on Marino. Think about that, we could have had three HOF QB's in a row here.

Plus Ben has a few more where he led a comeback in the 4th quarter to take the lead, followed by the defense giving up that lead, then doing it again. Only counts for one, but there have been plenty of those since 2013 or so.

I prefer not to think about that..

2 of those games vs. Denver- both on the road, the Steelers limped in with injuries to starting RBs and played hurt himself.

In fact, and this is important because winning in post season hangs so much on being healthy, since 2010 — only the disappointment of 2017 have the Steelers not gone in with major injuries that were right on or into the postseason.

I get it, end of day is scoreboard.

But Manning, Brees, Rodgers (list goes on and on....) what’s their post-season record?

My post wasn't serious. It was a riff on how people think tomlin is a good regular season coach.

I hate hunting and pecking playoff stats. I you take the GB SB loss, you have to take the 2 wins that got them there. 5-6 ain't as bad...

Truthfully this has stuck in my craw (whatever the heck that means) for years. Seriously I have to admit that I am still pissed over it.

Probably says more about me than the decision itself, but MAN!!

no matter what the stats are.. 1 more trophy is the only thing that will cure what ails us. we will not ***** about Tomlin/Ben. coordinators etc until the following years 1st loss

Unfair to say.
Had we actually drafted Marino, that starts the butterfly effect.
Our drafts would all be affected, as would our records, coaching staff, front office, etc. The only constant between Marino and Ben's drafts would be the Rooneys.
While there's a five year difference between Marino retiring and Ben's draft, everything else was already affected adversely. Both on the Steelers and the rest of the league.
