For everyone teeing off on Haley/Tomlin/Ben for the playcalling, can one of you please tell me how you determine who that specific call falls on when it fails?
On 4th and 1, the Steelers decide to go for a sweep on one of them, and then a pass play on another.
Both failed.
But did Haley call those plays and Ben then ran exactly what was called?
Or did Haley call something and Ben audible out of it at the line looking at the defensive formation?
How do we know so soon after the game of WHO exactly is responsible?

We lost as a TEAM today.
Onside kick decision, not having the team focused and prepared for Jax, not looking ahead to NE is squarely on Tomlin.
The defensive gameplan is squarely on Tomlin/Butler. Didn't stack the box and spy Bortles and got 45 dropped on us by a team that scored 10 against Buffalo the week before.
The offensive gameplan is squarely on Tomlin/Haley. We're going to try and throw throw throw against the #1 pass defense in the league this season, and not run run run against the #28 run defense. Yes, I understand we were playing from behind the entire game, but we were not committed to the run AT ALL from the start of the game and abandoned it way too early.
The execution/play is squarely on the players. The coaches aren't missing assignments, aren't the ones not wrapping up, not the ones getting burned, etc. Even with a garbage gameplan, our D surrendered 45 to BLAKE BORTLES and a Jaguars team missing it's best WR, and had an injured RB in the second half. Then Yeldon the ultimate bust comes in and looks like he justified his 1st round pick.

We are beyond blessed at many positions. But the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, because we got the ultimate stars and scrubs team ( for you fantasy auction players out there ). We had four real players on defense this year, and we lost of them recently leaving us with only three. Our 3 stars and 8 scrubs got manhandled yesterday by BLAKE BORTLES and the pathetic JAX offense. I know it's easier to point fingers at coaches/people that aren't well liked anyways, but the reason we lost was a combination of things and a TOTAL TEAM failure.

But even without running the ball and playing completely into JAX's defensive specialty, our offense hung 42 on their vaunted defense. But our defense laid down and allowed BLAKE BORTLES and their O to drop 45 on us. We ultimately lost because our defense is not on par with our offense. Our defense let us down today. Coaching, playing, scheming, player - personnel, all things defense. We have too many players that don't belong in Steeler uniforms on D. A LOT of them need to move on with their life's work this offseason if we want it to get any better.

I will ask you a question. What do you notice in the difference between the beginning of the games when they go full huddle and seem to run a formulative script and the middle end where Ben calls mostly from the line. Why is that?

This was the worst performance by a Steeler defense that I’ve seen in my 40 years of watching the team, hands down. Totally pathetic on third and long. Blown out through the middle of the D and completely absent in the flat. Mike Mitchell is one of the worst safeties in the league hands down. Always late to the play and usually out of position. I feel bad for the offense because they played great yesterday except for a handful of bad decisions. We won’t get to the Bowl again until our defense gets significantly better players and if Ben retires before that happens, it’s gonna be a long time coming...

Even on an audible, Ben only has one option to audible to. He can't change to anything in the playbook. Like, he can't say **** YOU I am adding the QB sneak back into our list of plays and I am running it myself.

The D is another issue. Our overall scheme and philosophy just does not work. No true NT. Using 2 DL way too often. Can't stop the run all year and no adjustments. Butler, Lake and Porter all should be on the chopping block this week.

Our OLB's have only gotten worse under Porter. Jarvis never improved. Bud, who trained all offseason outside the organization was getting rave reviews before the season. He comes here and gets worse and doesn't improve as the year goes on. WTF is Porter teaching or not teaching these guys?
