So.........

Cam also had his helmet smacked before the sack fumble touchdown.

Did Cam Newton throw the game?

I'm not sold , .....but.....I'm not the first to think this. He could have dove for that fumble.....but.....
He was in a position to.....but...,,.who knows?
Is it conceivable?

What sayeth you?

He had lots of help from his offensive line, the Denver defense and the refs and he sure waited long enough to do it. Or maybe it's just another not-so-well thought out conspiracy theory.

To me, it looks like he intended to pick it up instead of dive. Then he sees his own lineman falling in and went into "protect my legs" mode. It may be that his instinct wasn't to dive. I still think it was chicken **** kind of play, but I think he's proven with some of his runs that he's not afraid to play tough. Bottom line is he didn't think dive, dive right away for whatever reason.

The explanation is simple. Carolina had a really easy schedule which allowed them to simply run the ball with a high school passing game and win with defense. In the playoffs there weren't tested either as Seattle's footwear problems put them in a deep hole and Carson did his usualy choke job in a big game.

Denver was the first team to really challenge them and Carolina had no answer. Take away their run game and their offense is garbage. They have ****** WRs, Cam struggles with accuracy and is slow to read past his #1 option.

The main reason everyone thought Carolina was so great is because Cam has great fantasy stats and few people have actually seen him play a game aside from highlights and the 2 playoff games where the opponents self destructed.

^^^
This too!

Imagine Cam and co trying to take on the Steelers. 1: Ben would've had a field day 2: Defense front seven would've caused some confusion 3: Should've been the Steelers 4: Should've been the Steelers.....stairway to seven

Yep, this. Cam may think he scares people, but his wideouts don't scare a soul. Their D feasted on turnovers for the whole season and it set up the running game. Said it before, their pass yardage was ranked 24th in the league for the season. Their D caused 9 turnovers in their first two playoff games. And somehow the talking heads transformed that into Cam and the O as being destructive weapons.

And another thing, Riverboat Ron was terrible. Bad decisions, bad challenges, no guts, and he essentially quit on the game, pretty much like his QB did.

As for Cotchery's no catch, the ball hit the ground, that was obvious. But since the Bert Emanuel rule, the ball is allowed to touch the ground as long as the player maintains control. Trouble for Cotch was after the ball touches the ground, it becomes loose and rolls across his stomach. Any kind of movement like that and they are not going to call that control of the ball. Anyway, he should have caught that clean to begin with, he had a **** game. That one he dropped along the sideline later was terrible.

Cam's attitude sucks and his leadership is awful. As is typical of me first guys, when the **** hits the fan, they turn tail and run. And then whine about it.

But I also got super sick of Manning after his display. Take your old and busted arm and neck and all your cheesy ad campaigns and go retire.

And Talib should be suspended for 3 games next season. Once a filthy, dirty Pat*, always a filthy, dirty Pat*.

Brave Cam Newton ran away.
Bravely ran away,.
When danger reared it's ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
Brave Cam Newton turned about
And gallantly he chickened out.
BRAVE, BRAVE, BRAVE CAM NEWTON!!!!
DAB

Cam & Co. won't make the SB this coming season. As said, I DO HOPE P.manning retires, so sick of his ******* game in a game bullchit. A new sheriff in town, he didn't do much to contribute to the SB win. I'd say Laundry Jones would have done equal or slightly more. Maybe superman could take peyton to payton's place and then set him free..................

Salute the nation

I have said this a couple times, but i have not heard this mentioned anywhere else... This was right after the no - catch and was another huge call

If they had flagged that I would have turned the game off. The totally obvious call they missed was talib being offside on gano's missed fg.

I think he's a big ***** if he didn't throw the game. I'm pretty much cemented that the NFL is mainly bullshit. See pats**** for clarification. It's entertaining bullshit though.

There's a good pic somewhere of the ball touching the ground, it was not a catch, and Ben gets hit in the helmet every game and never gets that flag, Manning got hit vs NE the same way and there was no call.

Unless a mobster threatened his family what possible reason could a guy throw a game like that. A win there puts him in an economic stratosphere far beyond any possible monetary gain by throwing. C'mon. He had no receivers, they plastered them with single coverage And controlled him with their front seven. how is that hard to believe. I agree they played well leading up to the games in the playoffs, but they literally beat next to no one in the regular season.

Agreed, it was just like watching a Steeler game, seeing Ben get his bell rung, with no flag. Cam was hit with downward force, and it was not a light tap. He was in the pocket and not trying to run. If it happened to Manning, the same way, in the same game, there are flags from every direction raining down on that play. That was the play that changed the outcome for Denver.
