So who do you want? And guess pick 49

BPA........ following these areas of need
OG/C ...If Cesar Ruiz is there or Cushenberry I think that will be our play in that order... there will be an early run on OT so I am not sure the value will be there at 2.49 for that position
RB -- only a true 3 down back that would step into the #1 spot on our roster depth chart
WR.... it would have to be a round 1 talent guy that fell to us..... give me something with speed/size or I am waiting until the later rounds...... please no smurfs at 2.49

all other positions come into play after the 2nd round pick

Maybe. If someone falls to good to pass up we can throw our perception of priority needs right out the window.

But if it falls like I think it will with the normal run on tackles, pass rushers, high end defenders it leaves you with whatever wasn't run on leading up to our/Steelers pick.

Which probably would look like the list presented................

My favorites would also be Taylor, Dobbins or Akers at 49. Or the best WR at 49 and get Dillon sometime later.

Who will they actually get, I predict: Bailey Cate, P, Old Dominion LOL!

We will all probably look like fools when the actual picks come in ........... much like the DJ pick last year........... who ?

my off the wall pick ........ILB or QB ........nothing will surprise me this year:redface2::redface2:

Impossible to predict, gotta see how the dominoes fall. Who do I want?
WR Higgins or Jefferson.
RB Swift or Dobbins.
OT Josh Jones (I doubt any of the top 4 fall)
C Ruiz, Cush'n'berries

Offensive line is at top of my my list. I don't care if it's interior or a tackle, we need to replenish the talent and it's a long-term investment into protecting the QB and improving the ground game.

Playmaker at wide receiver is next. I want speed or elite size at the position. These are two areas we lack.

Defensive playmaker. We are going to need a pass rusher if Dupree isn't re-signed. You can never have enough defensive backs.

Running back is low on my list. A good offensive line can make a star out of any running back.

I dont see Higgins falling to 49 the WR dominos are going to be determined by picks 11-13
right now I can say realtically this is safe to assume up to pick 10
1 QB Burrows
2 DE Young
3 CB OKUDAH
4 OT Wirfs
5 QB Tua
6 OT Brown they need to build a line, i think start of rnd 2 they go QB
7 LB Simmons
8 OT Willis Kyle Murray with weapons needs NFl caliber book end blockers
9 De Chaisson
10 OT Becton, word is clv rnd 2 pick will be trading for trnt williams, he may not be the same, if nof so you signed Conlking you are paying Hubbard good money, he can be moved to OG but its a mystry what they do here S maybe
11 OT thomas
12 Juedy
13 Lamb
14 OT Jones
after here is where the mayham for OT and best remaining Wr should happen.

if Miami takes a qb or RB Swift it helps us so much more with age and quality of depth on the OL I could see KC taking Ruiz if not they go LB/DB
I am in rnd fine with Taylor Dobbins in that order after I prefer a long physical WR as juju has the versatility to play inside and out.

If the Steelers decide to trade back and get more draft capital, although I still like Okwara, I would target Cam Akers with the proposed Minnesota pick. Akers seems to tick all of the boxes for what the Steelers look for.

I like the idea of trading back with New England also. In this case I would move back up packaging one of the third round picks with one from next year to go back up for Akers assuming he is still on the board after the 49th pick.

Stumbled upon a replay of 89 Draft where the Steelers drafted two busts in the first round, Tim Worley and Tom Rickets. Worley was a lot like Jonathon Taylor, big and fast.

Personally if they picked two out of the first three to OL (provided the right guys were there, NOT project type) I'd be happy. T'aint going to happen so if we can get a "starter" type OL with one of the first two picks, I'd be good.

Offensive play maker OR offensive line man............... Not neccessarily in that order

Salute the nation

Worley also had a drug problem, so, big and fast wasn't the issue...

Cam Akers. What can I say - I want a speed back and Akers can do it all. Steelers in a "Win Now" mode to maximize Big Ben's final couple years and RB is a position where draftee's can hit the ground running (pun intended). The future is NOW!
