Who you got?

Franco Harris
John Henry Johnson
Jerome Bettis

Franco

although I did love Bus' physical style

This is hard for me because while I got to see most of the RBs, I did not see JHJ. JHJ had more yards per attempt than any Steeler player at over 4.4yds/att. Bettis finished with about 3.9.

I really liked the smash-mouth years and guys like Sydney "thunder" Thornton and Frank Pollard at 4.3 and 4.2 respectively.

Harris meant more to the team and finished around 4.1yds/att. I used to love him when he would break up the middle but hated him on 'sweeps' when he would stand and "stutter-step" for no gain. He was the engine that drove our team through the memorable years though.

If all that matters is SBs then it is an easy decision...Franco, Bus and then everyone else!

foster................................. Franco, Bettis

Salute the nation

Barry Foster was good. He didn't last long though.

Before it is all over and done if he keeps on his early pace, we could very well be voting for Bell hands down............

At the pace of last year, how many seasons does Bell need to supplant both Bussy and Franco?

6 or 7?

Unless Bell gets a few "rings" I don't see a surplanting..............

POSSIB LE though

seems about right

6 or 7 similar seasons would be some impressive statistics

Bus went out with a ring Franco had four...... A ring does factor into the equation but it doesn't necessarily have to be a end all.

Could see Willie Parker here too. #3 in yardage, undefeated as a starter in the playoffs, and longest run in Superbowl history.

Tough to vote against Bettis, but the immaculate reception puts him over the top. That and his Superbowl MVP.

Franco, he was the best running back and excelled in the playoffs where Bettis was not very good.

Meh what era we talking about... are they playing with a traditional fullback or out of a spread? Who is the QB and which Oline do they have? if its ben with an all star Offensive line that's different than a crappy line with a crappy QB where the guy is going to have to break a tackle just to get to the L.O.S...... I mean if we are talking 9 man fronts with a weak line vs a power run game with no passing game, ill take Bussy... if we are talking a modern spread im going with Bell, if we are talking an old school offense with a balanced attack, probably franco... there isn't a one size fits all answer
