So many wounds to lick tonight. It was as bad as can be. Everything that can go wrong did go wrong. It was pathetic. I love Big Ben, but this may have been one of his worst games ever. At the most inopportune time. Ben, you made me wince and question my manhood tonight. Not to speak of your manhood. But I stand by you, we're all due for an off (day) night.

It did not help I was watching the game with a bunch of Steelers-haters, but Ben had a rough night tonight.

By posting here, I get to service a bet with w drunk Giants fan (sigh), a dear friend of mine. I'm posting an "It was on Ben" post here, a "Ben Sucks" post. Gotta honor a bet. Ben sucked tonight, but not as bad as the D. The D made me want to piss in my beer.

We live to see another day, that's all that counts. I guess.

Rough night for us all. Respect SteelerNation!

In the end Ben put the ball where it should have been caught and a few times his WR's let him down.

Yep but if Martavis and Wheat catch some catchable passes......

I was very critical of Ben's performance today, but your post is depressingly true. Bryant has a much longer way to go than we had all hoped. The only catch I remember him making today is on an offsides call earlier in the game. He has become such a frustrating enigma. And wheatons effort on the very last play of the game was him just looking for pass interference. He jumped in the air looking like a referee signaling touchdown and the damn ball pops him in the shoulder. You know, there was a TON of talk about how these guys were supposed to produce when Brown was being taken out of the game, and boy did they "drop the ball" today.

It doesn't happen often for the Steelers but this one came at one of the worst times throughout Big Ben's career.

This one is on him!

One of his worst performances I can remember in a long, long time.

Now we gotta root for the Bills next week and Ben to rebound vs The Clowns!

because he was awful on D
because he made the WRs drop balls

if we are going off the deserved path of blaming the coaches

in regards to the players there was a lot of fault

O-line had a sub par performance especially the LT
secondary continued to make ****** QBs look like All -Pros
leaky run D

but yeah this one was on Ben

Agree. While this is a team loss with plenty of blame to go around I put this in Ben too. At no time did he look interested in the game. Not once. I know. We don't see he the entire game, but when he was on the side there he is sitting in the bench...alone, no wrs, no photos/plays to review, no coaches. Just a blank, no emotion look. It's almost like someone told him his dog died before the game.

That fire and drive pushes this team not just in the O but carries to the def. Ben didn't show any of that today. Ben looked like the new hire not the Ravens qb.

I thought the same thing about other passes too: They were looking for PI more than trying to catch the ball. It worked a few times, but I think they over-used that technique over all. The 30-yard bomb on 3rd and 15 seemed unwise to me. Move the chains; hit Heath down the middle seem on that down.

Damn, now you got me thinking. Ben seemed like he was on another planet. Perhaps he picked the wrong time to drop acid? He looked out of sorts, whatever the explanation. Hemorrhoids? Dead dog? Too much Chinese food? Too much Weed, Hot Dogs & Porn? Whatever happened, it was not a good look.

headcoach didn't coach them up?

My (6yr old) daughter actually said why is Ben sad. His head was not in the game from the start. Last week, even while being down 17 he was on fire with emotion. If it was drugs, he needs a refund because they were not working.

The word that comes to mind is lethargic.

Ben looked like he ate some five-day old chinese food and it started kicking in.

I am starting to think Ravens are in his head and he can't shake the feeling of futility at this point, even with such a beat up team with so many of their key players out. Maybe he has lost confidence in his head coach's ability to beat theirs. IDK, something is amiss here.

Yeah, that game 6 TD, 340 passing game he had vs. them last year must have really messed with his head.

Or that he may have gotten dinged good on that hard hit he took where he was slammed into the turf. Looked like he was shaken up a bit. Wonder if he is one sore mofo right now. Dunno. Something was amiss for sure.

well, none of those other players are getting paid $100 million to put the team on their back. We put up 17 points on a putrid defense. Our defense,on the other hand, held them to 20 points -27 if you count the pick 6 from Ben that was called back on a bail out. We blame Tomlinson for every loss - even when he doesn't have anything to do with it, why not Ben? Yes, I put this one squarely on Ben's shoulders.

No surprise to me. This is Ben Rothlisberger. 3rd and fifteen and you throw a 40 yd pass? That's high percentage when you know all you need to do is move the chains.

Not leave yourself a 4th and fifteen.

He is a up and down player. One week he is up next he is down.

He has become a turnover machine. What does he have 14 int on the season?

He tried and do it last week.

This guy is good and not many better but his days of putting this organization on his shoulders and carrying it are gone. Period!

There was a time when no matter what you knew he couldn't lose and would find a way to win.

Not any more. With age the body is used less and the brain is used more. Well not for this guy.

He has lost his magic to scrap & win. He seems ok with it. Seattle turnovers? Cinci turnovers late in game one? Beat by Flacco on your home field last year in playoffs?

He will give his token speech on how its all on him.

Can he still lead this team to a super bowl? Yes but it wont be because he threw them on his back and carried them.

There was a time when if I needed to bet my life on one game to win that was my guy. Who feels that way in last 5 years?

We will miss the playoffs again!!

Top 5 QB should be in the playoffs every year.

The last pass was not out in front of Wheaton far enough he released outside and as soon as the DB turned his hips he came back inside and created separation, the pass had to be thrown in front of him, unfortunately it was "to" him and the DB was able to reach in and knock it away or at least create enough havoc to make the catch nearly impossible. Wheaton never had a chance to make a play because he was running away from the defender but the ball was thrown to where the DB could defend it, can't blame Wheaton, IMO.

OMG! Bryant had to run as fast as he could to try and even have a dive attempt for that 3rd down ball. That wasn't a catchable ball. He made it look closer than it was.

That was a freaking horrible decision to even try that stupid *** throw. Get 7 or 8 yards and use your two downs? No?

The Wheaton catch was another play where the defender was there with arms flailing in his face and he never seen it clearly until it bounced off his shoulder pads or helmet whatever it hit.

After the 3rd down I was already walking out of the room before I broke more furniture.

This is a team who thinks just because the put on the Steeler uniform they are something. Buddy you are far from it. This is a 500 football team for the last 5 years.

I'll bite. Who are the top 5 QBs that carry their teams to the playoffs every year? I'll spot you Brady and Rodgers. Now you need 3 more.

I was just about to yell, "I bet this one gets picked off" and then the next thing I knew the ravens guy was taking it back to the house. Why did that get called back? Did Ben know it was a free play? Parents' house has no DVR and I got up to make a sandwich as the Ravens were celebrating.

Upshaw was damn near standing in the Steelers back field before the ball was snapped. He didn't jump and try and get back and the ball was snapped, he was lined up offsides the whole time.
