His team was caught cheating three times ( Rams and Jets video taping ) and Colts ( Deflating footballs ).

I think suspending the man in charge sends a clear message to all teams. He has cheated the game, and should not be allowed to stand in glory on the most important sunday of the year.

Yes, but as long as he denies he knows anything and until the NFL can prove otherwise, I don't think he does.

I'm starting to get the feeling this will go down as an unsolved mystery. The NFL will leave it unpunished not being able determine exactly who is responsible. They will change the rules and handling of the balls, that's it.

Super Bowl? He should be suspended for a year. Nobody in their right mind thinks some ball boy did this on his own.

Apparently he has thrown Brady under the bus - should make for an interesting relationship. I'm not sure I care enough anymore anyway. WWF on a football field.

And it certainly wouldn't be the first time Goodell suspended someone without a shred of evidence as to their guilt. Come on Rodger! The precedent has already been set! Protect the shield!

How many times does this need to be said ..

WHEN bountygate happened Roger Goodell suspended Sean Payton saying that " Ignorance is no excuse " same should be applied here --

Hahahahaha!!!!!

How does anyone think NFL "justice" is anything other than Goodell's very unfair treatment of players/teams/owners depending on his personal relationships?

How is it that the Rat FO and Biscotti have not been disciplined for mis-representing the Ray Rice spousal assault?

Roger ******* Goodell and the NFL's arbitrary and crony-based system of "justice" and "fair play" are a complete joke --- this is just the most recent example.

What happens to an MLB pitcher when they grease up a baseball? Pineda for the Yankess was tossed out for an illegal substance on his neck and doctoring the ball. TOSSED out of the game. You either suspend the player or the coach...if Belichick says to talk to Brady them suspend him for a game. That will cool his *** and stop his laughing.

Yes, it should but it wouldn't be the first time a punishment (or lack thereof) seemed inconsistent or arbitrary. There's motivation for the NFL to downplay and minimize this.

Yeah, but that was when Rog had the heat of lawsuits about player safety breathing down his neck. Maybe somebody from Vegas should sue them for fixed outcomes or something. Rog always needs serious outside heat for him to ever act on anything.

Yes we know that .. but eventually all this is going to hurt the bottom line of the NFL --- we can ONLY hope that the fans will start to revolt .. (yeah I know fat chance)

Too bad the average fan will not boycott the Superbowl -- LOW rating for that game will definitely cause a problem

No to suspensions. Until anyone can prove the footballs were tampered with after both teams balls were inspected PRIOR to the game by the officials this is nothing more than pre-SB drama. Goodells NFL thrives on controversy and in this case what more can you ask for. It's "Heroes and Villains" 101.

In which case you suspend Brady for the Super Bowl, see how Belicheat likes his smug win at all costs attitude then. I'm also getting tired of hearing the "every team does it" excuse from fans, and not just Patriot fans. Not every team does it, most follow the rules and look for competitive advantages within those rules. Belicheat and his staff look for ways to skirt the rules consistently. Just look at how he handles the injury report. That's enough to see he doesn't give two ***** about the league and integrity. It's all about him.

Same here. If everybody did it then the league wouldn't even waste time acknowledging the accusations let alone spending time on investigating the situations. Goodell needed to drop the hammer back in '07, he didn't so now there is always going to be a question about that regime in NE.

That has already been proven, the balls were inspected by the officials and given back to the teams, at half time 11 out of 12 were deflated by 2 lbs , the COLTS balls were fine. How can you deny that they were not tampered with .

I don't want to watch this Super Bowl with Jimmy Garoppolo at QB for the Pats. Much more fun the watch Brady & Belichick lose at full strength.

Take their 1st round pick away, suspend both Brady and Belichick for the first 2 games of 2015 and fine the crap out of them.

The NFL won't do crap. They will minimize this just like they have other cheating scandals this team has done. Hell the so called videotape evidence they had was so bad they had to destroy it before anyone else could see it.I call horseshit on that. The NFL is not really a sport anymore. They've completely ruined the integrity of the game and i hope they all get knocked down a few pegs in the future.

There's something more to consider...

Bellichick throws Brady under the bus...

Brady gets suspended for the Superbowl...

Brady loses it because, let's face it ~ this is the ** way. All he's ever known is cheating and now HE'S being pulled from the F'n SUPERBOWL?

Now the **'s face a real situation where the malcontent in their midst becomes the one guy who could spill the beans better than anybody outside of hoodie and Ernie.

Nope. They aint gonna suspend Brady. No way will they risk it. A Brady Temper Tantrum would destroy the shield completely, we're talking 8 Men Out...

yeah you know Goodell wouldn't let anything happen to Brady going into the SB. It will be after. It is all about the almighty dollar.

If the P**ts do win, imagine how miserable it will be for Goodell to have to get on stage and hand them the Lomardi. There's your silver lining.

Won't bother him in the least -- that is his objective anyway

Odds are Brady had more to do with this than Belichick. Hard to believe that a coach as controlling as he is wouldn't know, but no way the NFL suspends either from the Super Bowl. Though, I wouldn't be surprised if a suspended coach wouldn't actually draw some extra viewers for the train wreck aspect. If Brady was out, tons of viewers would be as well.

Tom's very particular about how his footballs are before the game but says he didn't pay any attention to them during the game. Yeah, sure, Tom that makes perfect sense.

Brady is currently claiming no knowledge as well, so we're being asked to believe whoever did this acted on their own.
