Ryan Shazier has been on camera in the time since his injury in Cincinnati, but the linebacker hadn’t spoken in an interview. That all changed when teammate Roosevelt Nix and Shazier got together for the fullback’s new podcast. You can find the full interview on this tweet from Nix. Hard to say what allready hasn't been said. KEEP the faith in GOD and all things are possible. Know nothing is to big or to small for our savior Jesus Christ. Ryan seems to have the focus he needs to acheive the goals that he has set. Myself, I'd need goals to acheive, so the loftier the better. Good Luck to you Mr. Shazier..!!!!

Salute the nation

I'd love for him to play too Cope.

I think it's better he hangs them up. I'm cheering for him to walk and possibly start running

Agree. Dude be lucky if he can walk normally again let alone play football. Still, if Rocky Bleier could do it....

I hope he gets everything back he lost. I highly question the risk to his long term health were he to play football again. I believe he would have a very difficult time getting medically cleared and insured to play ball again.

I'm sure this has been covered somewhere, but he will be IR'd this season as his salary is guaranteed? Is that how it works?

pretty much

Unless they do an injury settlement if that's possible. 2018 is the last year of his current contract in his 5th year option and what I'm reading is that 5th year option is all guaranteed money. What I'm reading is that they could restructure to lessen the cap hit BUT that would have to depend on him having a realistic chance of playing again. Otherwise the team could be penalized by the league for circumventing the salary cap. I say just pay him his $8.7 mill and deal with next year next year.

As much as I’d want to say “I’m just rooting for him to have a normal life” and “I hope he hangs em up and just focused on getting and staying healthy”, the reality is this man wants to play football. He wants to get healthy so he can play football. This is his life’s dream and I get the impression he would be shattered if he couldn’t play again.

Therefore, I am no longer wishing JUST for him to get healthy and walk normally. I am also wishing for him to get back on the field and to go out there and give offenses hell for many years to come. Because I’m a crazed football fan who wants to see his team win? Nah (even tho I am not) that’s not why. But because that would be what makes Ryan happy
