I remember Bens's 1st start like it was yesterday. there was such excitement for the whole week going into the game. Miami was the 1st win. many more to follow.

a Hurricane came through the night before. Troy. Joey. Hines. Plex. Casey. Kimo. what an incredible time to be a Steeler fan.

Defense played well, Reed hit a couple Field goals, and Ben hit Hines for a TD. 13-3

lets hope we have such strong positive memories from Kennys 1st start.
 
He's making his mistakes, but there is a lot of rotten crap in our system.

We get the 3rd pick this year.
 
It was a great era for us Steelers fans but that is all behind now.

Present day reality, corporate Steelers are the norm. So as long as the merch and tickets sale. Art de la duce is happy.

Ben was game managing at the beginning with The Bus and one of the best O-lines the Steelers have ever fielded in front of him. You know what Kenny got at the old Bender house for Christmas this year? Yup, a carton of cliches. Smoke up Kenny!

Yep. Bill Cowher knew how to build a team but couldn't get over the hump till he added a gamer QB. And he was STILL smart enough to manage Roethlisberger through his first season.

Tomlin, on the other hand can't build ****, picks up a stud here & there and hopes like hell that's enough to keep him in the .500 range.

Thanks for verifying. I wanted to say it was a few years later, but I'm getting old and memories are getting fuzzy. I knew it was Heinz because the Rooney's had to address the "turf scandal" after that game. That part I was sure of.

Don't forget the enforcer Ryan Clark. Though he would come a few years later he fit right in. Someone posted an article i think on here saying Maulett was mad at some players laughing and living it up on the sidelines while we were getting reamed yesterday. Those old school players cared, watch Clark in this video he is not a happy camper and says the team gave up and this reflects on Tomlin. Called MT out...straight out. And he's right about something else: Minkah possessed that ball in the end zone...the play should have been over right there, but defenders never get the benefit of the doubt..never.

With that talent on D, go back and look at how many game winning drives and 4th qtr comebacks Ben had.

So was I but I was in the stadium as was a plane load of nation that came down from the ‘Burgh
There was a heavy downpour during the game where the fish fans ran for cover.The black and gold faithful stayed out in full force.
