Who thinks that if he is still with the Steelers in 2010, they have 7 Lombardies?

I do.

It's a shame he had to wake n bake, who knows how many good years he had left if he had a decent qb tossing him the ball. At any rate, glad he retired here.

It was because he threw a drink at that chick at the night club.

If the Steelers never drafted Rashard Mendenhall they would have #7
Uh, Mendenhall was having a pretty monster season and a fine game. That fumble was darn near impossible to avoid as he was hit almost the moment he got the ball.

It was a rough situation as I truly believe the Steelers were on their way to scoring (and taking the lead after being down by as many as 17). I think if they had done that, they would have broken the Packers. But I don't blame Mendenhall for one dropped ball. Blame whiff who never touched Mathews on the play. Not even a polite wave as he went by.

I am tip toeing as we speak !

On 10/10 Super Bowl XLIII MVP retires a Steeler. As it should be. Best wishes and good luck #10! Thanks for the amazing concentration at the end of that night and being GREAT when we needed it most.

Tip of the hat!

one day i will commission an oil painting of this photo and hang it in my man cave.

Thanks for that picture perfect catch, you are a big part of the Steelers history. Enjoy life

Wasn't there a large and vocal group on this site clamoring for the Steelers to **** him out like a greasy cheeseburger when he was suspended? And those same people threw a fit because the Steelers got ripped off for only getting a 5th round pick for him?

Maybe I'm remembering it wrong...

Yes......and you could also apply that to many very good former players. Like politicians, their approval rating with fans gets a big boost after they retire or leave for somewhere else. The same people who bitched about them incessantly and wanted them gone will look back through rose colored glasses and say how good they were. Fandom is funny that way.

We have 6 because of #10 for catching that ball toes in,#7 for being on the money that whole drive and #92....that man avoided a whole ******* team on a 100 yard pick 6 as time ran out at the half.

......ahhh the good ole days.

Holmes had an unreal playoff run leading up to his MVP performance. He seems to have cleaned up his act over the years and I will always appreciate one of the greatest players in team history.

Thanks for the good play memories and now onto your life's work.

Salute the nation

It was worth moving up in the draft, to get our Superbowl (and playoff) MVP. That pick got us a ring. Thanks Holmes. Glad to have you retire as a Steeler.
