Completely random question but anyone knowledgeable when it comes to the cap know where we will roughly stand next year? I assume Worilds, Troy, & Ike will come off the books. Also I assume Woodley will not count anymore as well. Looks like we may see an increase as well from TV deals.
The best salary cap guy has left, but it seems that you are correct. The only possible for dead money would be Woodley as I do not know if we were stuck for any more years of signing bonus.
We should be in a good position as the cap is expected to move up a good bit next year. It is unsure how much it changes with dead money depending on what happens to contracts just extended and the players as well as Ben's contract situation and if he decides to try free agency.
Not saying that any of this is likely only that it is something that is possible.
1 Ben is signed to an extension and hits a ton of upfront money further handicapping the team
2 Ben is signed to an extension that is cap friendly and helps the team
3 Ben is signed to a deal that is neither helpful or hurtful to the team
4 Ben decides to finish the contract out and enter free agency
5 if 4 above the steelers trade Ben to another team so they can get value for him and another team sees him as a viable option for them for a championship run.
6 if 4 above Ben won't come to terms and leaves after one year with new team to sign in with his friend the bruce in az a great place to retire and that will be what Ben does when his next contract is up.
Lots of stuff up in the air for next year.
