Saints sign Travis Feeney

I loved the pick but from what I say in preseason was OLB was not his position; ILB or even SS he looked more suited for.

I'd like to think he'd make a good SS. He was thin to be a LB

Thought he could be an in the box safety/ nickel-dime MLB if he specialized on running clean to the ball or covering TEs...seemed like quite a narrow utilization range for him with Shazier and Davis both having greater upside in those roles.

I'd like to see more utilization of using late round picks to trade up in the 3rd or 4th rounds to get guys we target rather than watching them go 10-20 picks before ours or trade 6ths for next years 5ths and 7ths for next years 6ths (and repeat with these extra picks to turn them into 3rd or 4ths a couple years down the road). Seems we always draft for ps in the 6-7 range and these players get snatched up. Use the buckshot method of filling the ps with UDFAs and then steal a key guy or two from other teams during final cuts to round out the ps. Just seems a little more effective than what we normally do late in drafts.

In a 3-4 he at his frame could only come in the nickel to cover is more suited to play in an under 4-3 where he could possibly play all lb positions hopefully the Rooney open up the chrqie book to try to get Collins or jpp as we need a edge rusher badly to replace jj

You have to be pretty desperate and not in a good position to sign a player this late from another teams practice squad.

Sometimes those PS players pan out. And if a team is prone to finding "gems", a team that isn't good at that might be wise to shop around.

Cuz we're the SteElers...

Steelers stole a Farrior and a **** and a Bus, and almost Staley before injury.

They stole Deebo from the Rats, and Green is looking like a free agent steal after being sidelined for more than a fan would like.

We could dig deeper, but there is good choices they made. Perhaps at times not enough. I would like to see them more aggressive filling holes on the team in the offseason.

But they aren't totally inept.
