Saints Game Meaningless?

Cam Newton is done for the year so Saints have a guaranteed win the last game of the year. That being said, I’m sure they’d rather rest guys that game than play their starters.

Remember that one of my main points is that the Raven vs Chargers is a Saturday game. The result of that game has playoff ramifications for several teams and really could influence how hard some teams play.

with a loss against the ****** raiders on the resume, the steelers can’t take any game for granted. But fact is, if the ravens lose, all the steelers will be hearing is they just have to win 1 of their 2 remaining games to win the division.

To go even further, the steelers are a 4pm game and both the pats and texans are at 1. So those results will also be known before kickoff. If they both win, then as i first wrote, the steelers would then be pretty much locked into the 4th seed with just 1 win.

now if you really want to think about it. Could the 6 seed actually be the easiest path? You would likely play a limping 3 seed Pats team and then possibly a 1 seed Chargers in their soccer stadium that would possibly have more steeler fans than charger fans.

You can't assume a win over Cincinnati, tape.

You can't assume anything with this team.

The *s are a different team at home. Just because we beat them the other night doesn’t mean I want any parts of a playoff game in Gillette

We cant be 6 seed by losing, either Colts or Titans will go 10-6

that's the flaw in the premise. We SHOULD beat them easily. Even if we play like we can, i dont want to subject our starters to the Bengals players if we dont have to do so.

One thing that would be nice if we could be sure of a win against cin is to rest the starters agains the saints (assuming chargers beat the ravens) and play game 17 with the starters so that they are still in the groove for the following week. No way i take that chance, though.

The Steelers can also clinch a playoff spot - not the division - with a win, combined with a loss by both the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans. The Titans host the Washington Redskins on Saturday at 4:30, while the Colts are at home against the New York Giants at 1 p.m.

There is no way the Steelers can rest starters in week 16 before the division is clinched. Can you imagine how pissed off the Bengals would be if they did?

Hopefully the Chargers win on Saturday, and the pressure will be off, at least a little. NO's line is in seriously bad shape...I'm hoping the Steelers can take advantage.

I’m not saying they tank the saints game, although i think with the steelers track record, that could happen. This team seems to only do their best in must win situations. Give them any slack and they take it . Raiders game showed that yet again.

If the ravens lose, then the saints game is no longer must win. Of course it’s better to win it but thecgact would be that only a win bs the bengals would be required. That’s enough slack for the steelers to turn in a stinker.

How about now...

This game means everything. We lose, and we will likely NOT make the playoffs.

Upside, it'll light a fire under Shades' *** and maybe the Rooney's won't give him another extension until he gets to the SB.

We have a better chance of browns beating ravens next week than us winning today... and that’s not likely.

Wasn't likely they would beat the cheats but here we are.
