Fans of the Steelers and the NFL alike have been eagerly awaiting news regarding the wellbeing of Steelers middle linebacker Ryan Shazier. As most who keep up with NFL news remember, Shazier faced a terrifying injury where he went to tackle a player while leading with his head on a Monday night game against the […]

Now to get him up and walking..........

The goal of playing football again is something to keep motivated by. Wheather or not he actually plays will yet to be seen. I wish him well in all respects of life, playing or not. God speed to you Ryan and soon to be able to walk.

Salute the nation

I hope he is able to play again. I also hope he chooses not to take that risk.

Life is a risk, tell you what.

Stay home stay on the sofa you might not get injured.

If he walks it is a win.

If he plays football again it is a win for him, and it is what he loves. He will know the risk. And I am sure the Dr's will verse him in what they recommend.

Even if the day does come where doctors say he is able to play, I can’t imagine him being able to go out there and play with the reckless abandon he once did having gone through what he has gone through. You never know I guess, but it’s hard for me to think that the injury wouldn’t be on his mind every time he went to make a tackle. I know it would be on mine....

Having feeling coming back in his legs is a long way from walking and running again and light years from playing football again. "May" needs to be taken with a very large grain of salt.

I’m not saying live in a bubble, but when it’s a risk you can control...take heed.

every player takes that risk when they step out on the field

I'd he happy if he can walk and play with his children again.

The pins and metal in his back, as far as I know will not come out and if gets hit wrong, he's in serious jeopardy.

Sorry guys, Shazier would be a fool to come back, and even if he tired it would take a year of rehab to approaching being in NFL shape.

I agree with you here Coach. I think it would be a foolish decision to try and come back.
I think just walking and living a normal life would be a gift from God and one to be so thankful for.

I'd be happy to see Shazier on the field, being honored at a half time, and walking. I do believe the Rooney family will take care of him, possibly offering him a job with the Steelers.

There is no way Shazier should ever play in a game ever. With a fusion in his mid back, the rest of his back is weakened vastly increasing the potential for injury above and below the fusion. Usually people who have fusions report a domino effect over the rest of their lives, requiring more and more fusions to keep moving. And they don't play football.

I would be to concerned about his health if he ever played football again.
