It was third down and six from the Steelers own 42 yard line. All the momentum had shifted into their favor. A game primary dominated by the Bears had turned after two key turnovers. There was 3:50 left on the clock and the Steelers could see the light at the end of the tunnel. Get […]

Landry, Landry! He's our plan
if he can't do it, a real man can.

Ben has a 94 qb rating, 5 TDs, 1 INT this season.
So a check down to our RB, that feels he should be paid as a #2 wr along with the best rb in the nfl, that would be the smart play? Oh yeah we tried that, he dropped the damn ball.
It's funny Brown has great numbers, who is throwing him the ball again? Bell, Bryant, Eli, juju are non existent in the passing game, maybe alot of that is on them more than Ben

Steelers are 2 for 21 on 3rd down and 7 or more. He missed on 10 passes of over 16+ yards on Sunday. He threw a 45 yard pass on third down and six with the game essentially in their own hands.

Ben is blaming himself and he may be correct..I'l have to go rewatch and see if I can tell if any of the other WRs running shorter routes were open....

But Ben said its on him. He has to make the right reads. Take what the defense is giving him. Put the ball on them. If they drop it its still the right play by the QB. There are people open underneath. On the incompletion to Bryant in the end zone Ju Ju is one on one on a crossing pattern. If the ball is thrown out in front of him he has a step and should get the first down.

I'm not saying he isn't at fault, he's the QB so of course fault falls on him, but it's not just him like everyone makes it out. I don't see 10 threads bitching about Bryant dropping a long TD that i bet changes the entire game. Or anything about Bell who held out because 15/yr isn't enough dropping an easy dump off in the 4th that has a very good chance to fo for a first down

this hasn't happened since his rookie season.

I've always maintained that Ben is at his worst, and it kills the team, when he is forcing passes. He does it often. And often times it feels like once he starts doing it in a game, he will do it the rest of the game. It's like you can tell from the first couple drives what kind of game Ben is going to have, and that is not a good sign.

But one thing I will say in defense of this is that, as coaches, if you know the weaknesses of your franchise QB, whose success dictates the fate of the entire team, how do you not figure out a way to neutralize this? I mean, Br*dy has lots of weaknesses as a QB and you rarely see them. I'm no coach, I'm not saying I have the answers, but I do think there has to be a way to coach, develop, and/or scheme around the tendencies we ALL know he has that can kill the team.

Or forcing a Redzone Pass to Jesse James who is in double coverage.

This is my feeling in a nutshell: They are mailing it in. They expect to show up and win,,, without putting in the work. Remember 60 min men? Well this is 6 min men,,, Hold on I need to celebrate. And I Believe Ben isn't putting in the work, and his heart don't seem in it.

The problem with Ben and this offense is they dont get simple yards. Everything has five working pieces and everyone on tge same spot. Their simple plays like the bubble scteens are useless. Ben is at his best when he reads from the line and takes four or five yards. If they cant stay ahead of tge chains they are fuckrd. I hate Haley.

Ben is taking some accountability. He should NOT have gone deep as often as he did because there were players underneath that were open. Yes there were dropped passes and easy TD / First downs missed but I think our offense is improving game by game. Sometimes a backward step can lead to forward and let's see how Ben & Co. Respond. Ratturds best bring the A-game as they are going to need it.

That's why I say give Ben full control, if he wants to go no huddle, let him, but the running game is sucking and the OLine isn't much better, but there's no threads bitching about them.

I swear some of yinz (tom) didn't read the story.. I def get into where he isn't the only person to blame.

Or if Bryant didn't slow down and just miss that deep ball, we easily beat the Bears. 7 points down the drain on the Byrant drop. And didn't Bell drop a TD pass that turned into a FG. So that is 14 points taken off the board.

Mix in a return that lead to points for the Bears and that fumbled punt return with some very bad coaching, and you get a loss.

And I'm sure she could have been the QB for the Bears and beaten us.

Look --we lost 14 documented points by drops. The FG block should have been 3 more....17 points down the drain, none of that is on Ben.

With the Bears down points, they have to pass and it would have gone ugly for them.

Just curious, all this bitching for and against Ben, does anyone have game film showing who is open or what the progressions are?

14 points by drops? It was one drop by Bryant that would've been six.

Ben Himself has said today that he needs to get back to taking what is given and not locking on to AB. I love Ben, I like Tomlin (most of the time) but they are both to blame as well as Haley and Bryant and Rogers the defense in overtime etc... There is plenty of blame to go around.
