He's simply amazing. Normally we scratch our heads at bad coaching likes like the fake punt when Boswell could have given us 3 in a then close game or Haley's run call on 3rd and 15.

But when you win big, it hardly matters as these things are forgotten.

Thanks, Ben.

And rare props to Jarvis Jones, who probably played his best game of his career.

i agree, ben was stellar. however, as the politics of media and th nfl go, hell never get it. hell be in contention, but theyll never let him have mvp. ab will take votes away on the same team, prob

Ben is leading the NFL in touchdown passes with 15, and 3rd in passing yardage. Brady missed too much time and his backup looked very good, which make you wonder how much of it was their coaching / system.

the cheats system is par excellence. look who they have one with this season. youre right brady has missed too much time, he wont get there. however, lets see ben do what he does on the road. hes only averaged one td on the road in the last season or so. if he keeps up his numbers, he has a shot to stay in contention. but, as other years have gone by, i see a drop off as always, at some point

I start the year assuming it is Tom Brady's to lose.

I totally agree that if he keeps up his torrid pace, he will be the most deserving

Let's use the same assumption (that guys will generally continue playing the way they have been so far) and look at the usual suspects:
-Cam Newton: hell no
-JJ Watt: nope
-Aaron Rodgers: good but he's taken a huge step back from his norm and is not MVP caliber
-Br*dy: missed too much time
-Brees: Team is terrible
-Peyton: Retired although I'm sure he'll still find a way to get votes
-AB: Statistically not up to his pace from the past couple years. If he didn't win it then, he won't win it this year either
-Rivers: Team sucks too much, but he's playing great

The only other contender I'm seeing so far 5 weeks in is Matt Ryan, and well, he's Matt Ryan. He'll fail eventually. And Zeke Elliott has been great but no way a rookie surrounded by great talent will get MVP. The MVP is Ben's to lose as long as he stays healthy.

Matt Ryan will get a **** ton of votes at this pace... If wheaton hadnt flubbed the Eagles game, then yes Ben would be the frontrunner....

Yep, right now Matt Ryan is probably a little ahead of Ben but if Ben keeps on this pace for October he could easily surpass Ryan by November and that is even if Ryan has a good November.

I have a hard time seeing Ryan as the MVP. He's never won a big playoff game and his teams have been pretty bad in some years. While the MVP is for one year only, many voters will use this against him.

Yeah and I'm sorry but I just don't see Ryan keeping up his pace. If we assume he keeps it up, then yes it will be close between him and Ben. But Ryan has never been an elite QB, his teams have always found ways to falter. I definitely think if it's a tight race between Ryan and Ben, Ben gets it off lifetime achievement

Right now Sam Bradford has to be in the discussion.

Disagree. He's played well but that defense is the reason he is even in a position to help them become a winning team. Without the D taking the pressure off the O, he would not be able to go out there and play the way he has

Its only 5 games in, but Ryan has some absurd numbers... over 10 YPA, 69% completion %, 348 YPG and a 12-2 Td/int ratio ... his passer rating is 121... His performance in his one loss was far better than Ben's one loss... I think the NFC voters will flock to him if its close and enough AFC guys are antisteeler enough that Ben losses it.. IF it stays like this.

Sam Bradfords only chance is either a very large jump in production or a perfect season...

in any normal year, i completely agree. however, missing four games is too much to overcome, i think

For anyone else, I would agree.

Skewing the votes away from him might be that the team was 3-1 without him.

Ben used to be a 2TD/ game player. This year he's a 3TD/ Game player. Brady, Manning, and Rogers are used to those numbers, Ben isn't, but this year he will be in the conversation.

It's not just AB, since Coates nearly has the same yardage. It's not just Bell, since he missed the first 3 games. It's all Ben this year. He's running the show. And his deep balls are finally hitting the receivers in stride!!

Ben would have to have 6000 yards and 50+ TD's to ever have a shot at the MVP.
If any other qb in the NFL would've lead that superbowl drive vs the cardinals in SB 43 they would've been SB MVP, but not Ben

That super bowl was hard to call the mvp. I personally harrison deserved it. Without him that drive probably does not happen. It would have been hard to argue against ben or holmes winning as well.

You just sent up the Bat signal to SDS...watch out...

He could probably have the best season a pro quarterback could have ever and they would probably award it to a kicker...because it is Roethliesberger.

I think Julio Jones is the bigger MVP threat than "Matty Ice", lol.
