I would think this is more for the PS.
I think it is 6 spots that is open to vets.initial reaction is "He is 38!" then I remember covid changes everything. Waiver guys gotta clear covid testing before they can play for a new team so a Saturday loss may be irreplaceable if you don't have a guy on the PS already. And, some of the PS spots are open to vested vets now.

Perhaps but what is the selling points?Colquitt will be signed to replace Berry not for the PS.
Better more consistent punter who is 3rd all time in punts downed inside 20. berry is a vested veteran and his entire salary is guaranteed if he is on the opening day roster. Plus the Steeles plan to sign the rookie punter Corliss Waitman to the PS per Brooke Pryor
The stats from last year has been posted and doesn't show a clear upgrade. It actually shows Berry with the slightly better average at this point in their careers and inside the 20 being identical. Only thing the change might provide at this stage is a cheaper salary.Better more consistent punter who is 3rd all time in punts downed inside 20. berry is a vested veteran and his entire salary is guaranteed if he is on the opening day roster. We should have kept Matt Wile. He was clearly the better in camp and the pre-season games.

His dad punted for the Steelers for those who remember. While he's very old, Dustin Colquitt is still better than a sucky Berry. Why the Steelers tolerated such below par play from Berry is beyond me.
