Well there goes that dream. Like it or not Tomlin is around for at least another year.

It was a pipedream the FO will keep mediocrity. Shuffle players in and out. Shuffle coordinators in and out. But that one constant remains the same. You know the old saying of doing the same thing over and over and over again expecting different results? That is where we are at.

not a done deal yet

I'm confused. Wouldn't Tomlin have to be fired first? That's not going to happen now, when the entire NFL media is touting Tomlin as a genius and saying he did a masterful job for keeping this team in the hunt all year with virtually no offense. Firing him after this year would certainly raise eyebrows all over the league. That isn't necessarily how I feel but I'm trying point out the difference in perception between how people around the league view Tomlin and how many Steeler fans view Tomlin.

But, the Redskins needed to interview a black, since Rivera is a "white Hispanic ". No respect for the Rooney rule.

This is an awful hire. Rivera was OK as a coach but Wash is rebuilding and they have a young QB to develop. A lot will depend on the OC hire . Rivera seems a better fit for a more established team that is close and needs more discipline to get to the next level. Rivera would have been a decent hire for Dallas

They wouldn't fire him if there was a chance to trade him, like Gruden going to Tampa and Oakland getting Tampa's first round pick.

Were you expecting different results? Really?

Rivera is a “minority” Coach so he meets the Rooney rule requirements. In fact Rivera satisfied the Rooney Rule for he Steelers before they hired a Tomlin. Ron was interviewed first.

There was only a chance in hell similar to a successful ice dealer in hell of Tomlin being traded from the steelers this year. Fantasies can come to an end, unless it involves an early adult Brook Shields.

Salute

If the Redskins really wanted to elevate their wins to 8 in a season they would call Rooney. Included in the trade with Tomlin: a pair of spiffy cool looking sun glasses, a dagum defensive coordinator who can get a linebacker to try to cover anyone, a good job 10 points a game runrunpass really offensive coordinator, NFL when to challenge book for dummies, a written in crayon 2DL diagram on how not to stop the run, and a wall mountable deer complete with headlights.

Maybe Tomlin will be eyed for the GM spot?

I made a FB post today and hashtaged the Redskins:

Bruce Allen was unceremoniously dumped by the Redskins in a press release blaming him for everything. You don't get it Snyder: You're the problem, and the reason your team is losing lifelong fans. #HTTR

The Panthers hired Rivera the same year Can Newton was drafted and it worked out pretty well, at least for the first several years.

I do not think Haskins is the same kind of talent Newton was, but there is a precedent for Rivera entering a rebuilding situation with a young QB and eventually getting to the Superbowl.

Well, if that doesn’t get Dan Snyder to change his ways, I’m not sure what will.

Just giving you grief.

Because you can't reward ignorance with violence?

Well unless it comes in the form of a threat to you or yours.

I think he was trying to be funny. The keyword trying.
