I’ve stated throughout the draft process that Evans is a buck thumper and not a fit to replace Shazier and definitely not worthy of the Steelers first round pick. Seems the NFL community is starting to agree. What round are you willing to draft Evans? I think he’s a 4th or 5th round prospect.

If he is on the board when we pick, this is a done deal....You know it isn't such a bad thing to have one of these on your team out of 11 guys.....Out tackling at times is absolutely pathetic.....Matter of fact we NEED A COUPLE OF FREAKING THUMPERS

That's why I'd prefer Van Der Esch over Evans if we get that choice.

Same here. Lingering injury issues and not running a 40 suggest Evans has something to hide.

Alabama's DL was so loaded it could make a Linebacker look good as he seldom had to deal with players blocking him. Evans speed on film looks decent to me but he's got to prove it.

My suggestion if he's healthy enough to run it has his agent hire a stopwatch guy or attend one of those camps and quietly time him in private. Under 4.7 = invite teams to see him run.

We can agree to disagree. VDE, IMO will be Dupree II - workout warrior, one year college wonder that equates to an average NFL player.

Besides my homerism - Bama plays virtually the same defense that we do - so the transition to the NFL should be a seamless one AND Evans is rarely out of place on the field (go watch some film on him) and his motor is relentless...

I'm not worried. To compare Evans to Uncle Jarvis is ludicrous...

We already have Uncle Jarvis. He just changed his number to 48 and his last name to Dupree.

I still say we move DuPree inside, then draft an OLB.
Dorance Armstrong or Harold Landry are my hopes at that position.

I'm not worrying about an ILB in the first because I'm going Griffin later, even if it's a round too early.

Lets not pretend like LVE set the world on fire with his 40...

You guys really want a one hit wonder from a small school in the first round?!?

No, but he ran a sub 4.7 and that’s what you want from your MLB. Also, if you look at whom ran faster than him only two LB’s weighed 250+ pounds. Tremaine Edmunds and Genard Avery. And if you look at all the numbers he was 2nd in vertical jump, 5th in broad jump, 5th in 3 cone, 2nd in 20 & 60 yard shuttles. Also, his two best games came at the end of the season vs his two toughest opponents. Having 28 tackles, 3 for loss, a sack and int.

He should have came back for his senior season but if he did maybe he’s a top 10 pick.

Not me, and again would be surprised if the Steelers went that route. Typically not their approach to round 1. He'll at this point it wouldn't shock me if RB or QB was the choice. Or a Dupree replacement... BPA won't be a small school one year wonder. No way.

That's what a lot were saying about Watt. I said I wanted him way before the college season even ended.

I know I dont want a guy who was surrounded by studs at Bama who will likely be "meh" at the pro level, I know that much.

Watt had a NFL bloodline and solid production. And wasn't a small school prospect. He checked off of the majority of boxes you look for in a round 1 prospect. No level of competition concerns vs level of competition concerns. Gee let us compare the two.

He does come with concerns. Will he be injury prone? Is his ceiling only average? perhaps too many question marks for one. Safer play might be Olber or D-line prospect. Or hell even a CB.

Only if he's fast, undersized, and gets hurt a lot. Spinal stenosis is a bonus, you trade up for that ****.
