Two things stand out to me: lots of first round failures, but so very few successes after round 2.

Man such a hard position to eval. Like cornerback.

With QBs I usually like to see a good power 5 QB with a high completion percentage.

But there is so much more that goes into a eval than that. Can he make all the throws, extend the play, read defenses, etc.

How is he at the end of a game with the game on the line in a clutch situation? big game?

How is he with pressure in his face?

Did the scheme he was in inflate his statistics? Or was he a man among boys?

I have to give it to the ones in the NFL who are good at picking QBs, just not a easy task by no means.

Especially with millions and often jobs riding in the balance.

Look at me!!!

While Coach has a lot of look at me threads and posts, this isn't one of em. Knock the **** off. You can't ever seem to just take a chill pill with him. Put him on ignore, or don't click into his threads. You know the old saying "don't feed the trolls".

And I would add such incredibly high expectations. Even an Alex Smith who is a solid pro would be considered a failure.

I couldn't get the darn thing to load up. Where did Ben's class end up, ranking wise..............????

QB picks are by far the hardest..... There is a lot that goes into it, EVERYTHING slash posted but add the fact of how well the said QB will do with coaching / team personal. T*mmy b*y is a great example, no one would have ever guessed how good him and Ernie would get along.......

Boy did Garrard give Cowher headaches. Always thought he was a quality player. To this day still....can’t.....believe.....the...Jets.....took....Hackenburgh...in....the...2nd.

Most qbs are not tough evaluations.

The main problem is they are over drafted and sometimes too hyped.

What I think happens is that becomes the ultimate need position. If you don't have a qb you have nothing. So a guy who in reality is like a 25th best player easily might end up 3rd because he is a qb and a franchise might think they won't draft that high again.

Yes, isn't that something?

2007 huge turd bowl for QBs.
2013 no better, and looking at that group, maybe Landry wasn't THAT bad of a pick for a back up.
2014 pathetic 1st round QBs.
2017 much better keepers in the 1st.
2004 fo wheelz

I NEVER thought HACKenburgh was any good, not even at PSU. I think I saw him in the AAF and he STILL stunk.

Looking back at 2012, that whole draft was pretty good for QBs (Luck, Wilson, Foles, Cousins).

I think I would move 2017 to the third spot.
