What a **** show. I don't just mean the steelers. I mean the whole NFL in general. These coaches have all gotten so scared of playing starters in preseason that we are now watching preseason right now.

Packers vs Seahawks. Supposed to be a possible NFC Championship preview. We get total garbage.

Steelers look like ****. How could they not? Had TJ Watt and Mike Mitchell even met before today? No need for Ben to play in preseason, he'll be totally in sync with Martavis who hasn't played in over a year.

Maybe they shouldn't have played their starters today either. I mean, somebody could have gotten hurt and Cleveland isn't THAT big of a game.

It wasn't that long ago that most starters played 3 quarters of preseason week 4. It was the final tune up and got them into game shape. Then somebody decided week 3 was the week and everybody played starters that week.

Now it seems starters don't even play a full half of week 3.

We hear how today's players keep in shape year round so it's not necessary. Today's pathetic showings around the league beg to differ.

Just wait to see how ****** it will be if they go to 18 games. We'll see ****** football for the first 3 weeks.

Agree 100%. Because of all the money involved, no one wants to risk injury during the preseason. Bell was rusty as hell. Watt played a lot during the preseason, and it showed.

I fully agree Tape but it's not so much as the coaches and the starters playing as to where this **** show all started. It's what the NFLPA negotiated into the current CBA that forbids a lot of the hitting from taking place. You can't even have two a day with pads anymore. This is the sole start of what we have now as far as hitting and game shape and injuries and **** show,......Kapish ???

Salute the nation

Tomlin getting testy about not playing guys in the preseason. He says it was the penalties and not the lack of playing time. Well, penalties are a sure sign of sloppy football. Tomlin acts like penalties are just random unavoidable events. A small number are. But when you have a large amount like the steelers did, that's usually a bunch of guys who are either tired or overmatched.

Never fear everyone will be in sync in December. :)
