By Jonathan Clark SteelerNation.com Going into this season, the expectations are at an all-time high. The Pittsburgh Steelers defense was ranked 5th overall last season by Profootballreference.com, a season in which Pittsburgh was just one game out of the playoff race in a season where we lost our Hall of Fame quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger. Many […]

GREAT WRITE UP JONATHON !!!

Great minds think alike as I put 12-4 out there the same night the schedule came out. I think they go 2-2 first four because of the slow start of Ben Roethlisberger and Coach Tomlin led teams. I sure hope your prediction on the start of the season is way more accurate than mine.

EDIT: Note- I like how you give an explaination per each match-up. Great insight this early in the season

I like 12-4 with Big Ben and to cover all the bases in the event they are without him

8 and 8 and a playoff game and an early playoff exit (who knew). Rudolph hits himself in the head with his helmet after his 1 TD 4 INT effort. Which prompts the Steelers to send his *** to the North Pole....perhaps he will have better luck their guiding something other than the Steelers hopes and dreams.

Dont get me wrong, I would LOVE to see the Stillers win #7. But...I just see a scenario whereby Ben breaks down and we're praying he's back after the Bye week to face the Cowboys. Week 2 specifically. Ben is going to be running for his life/career that game. Crossing fingers that I'm wrong.

I'm thinking more like 11-5. We really need some kind of pre-season to hopefully get some of our rookies and new guys on the same page. If that happens, anything is possible. The Rats and Chiefs will be the top of the AFC and we will have to beat the Rats to even consider hitting the playoffs and doing anything once we get there. Of course, staying healthy is our biggest obstacle. Last year had to be one of, if not the most, injured Steelers team I have witnessed.

12-4 we really need a split vs baltimore and a swwp of cincy, clv

Yep 12-4 looks doable if bens back playing like Ben... this defense playing with a lead playing downhill could be lights out. We finally have a couple threats in the red zone... can’t wait to see some jump balls thrown to the rookie. 12-4 and home field advantage is doable...

I'm thinking 10-6 tops, and that's if Ben is healthy for the whole season. Without him, Tomlin has his first losing season. This is, of course, assuming the season is played at all.

Anyone predicting anything better than 8-8 doesn't believe in science.

LOL, 12-4? This board tends to over rated the Steelers, probably because they don't understand we are poorly coached, lose too often to .500 and below teams, and collapse late.

My official call will happen after the press-season ends, but right now nothing beyond 10-6, with 8-8 as a possibility. 7-9 is the usual china dolls break down. I can't to see the defense producing as many turnover as they did in 2019

The Steelers were + 8 on turnovers last year. Funny looking at the teams who made the playoffs, they all did well on the turnover, we are the exception.

As for Big Ben, Its wait and see for me. Its his most important pre-season, since he was a rookie. He could very well come back looking like he did in early 2019, pre injury.

That's a lot of *******. Are they wide?

Give him a break, Coolie's on a learning curve as he is finally figuring out that the big breasted smaller drummies chickens are easier to catch..........................

He was injured all of 2019 there was no pre injury part of the season and possibly even before last year. Statistically Tomlin is not bad against sub .500 teams that is only what it feels like.

If there was nothing wrong pre-injury, he played poorly in 2019 until he was hurt. We play lot of doormats this year. The type most fans check off as easy wins. The Steelers can not blow 2-3 game to sub .500 teams, but they will.
